This is the point...DICE's fix to the TTK indirectly helps the TTD to a degree. The truth though is that it is masking the primary issue that the netcode is off and the TTD needs to be addressed. Getting killed in one frame is not an issue with the TTK.

I do agree, Chase...some weapons made sense in lowering the TTK. But that's with gun balancing, not this wide-spread change to every weapon. SMGs are rough, SLRs are straight trash and MGs got a bit of a help somewhat, since it's harder to take them down.

There's definitely a net code issue.

It's not EXTREMELY off, but it's definitely messed up enough to cause some of the weird deaths you see and how sometimes it feels like someone with a KE7 essentially killed you with one bullet or you die around the corner. I can't even play in a West server because my latency/ping is nearly 150 and I have some pretty good internet... **** I was at 150 or under playing in West servers from Japan in Battlefield 1.

That type of thing combined with the general "flatness" and lack of creativity with the maps is why I draw the conclusion that this Battlefield is a lot like Call of Duty games of the past. I don't want to have to compare the two so closely or use the words "just okay" when I reference a Battlefield game and that sucks. I'm not jumping off cliffs or anything and I'll keep playing it, but Dice really has dropped the ball and tripped over their own feet numerous times with this game.

The gimmicky **** they were implementing to bring over the Battle Royal crowd isn't even out yet and the game is routinely on sell for $30.00 and it just doesn't look good for them and they only have themselves to blame.

Again.. I'll keep playing it, but it definitely leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

            Re: Battlefield V

I love the battlefield series. I did skip BF1 as I didn't like the direction and not a huge fan of the style and guns. My friend and I picked this one up as its been a long time since BF4 and we wanted to give it a go. TTK1 was pretty good and TTK2 feels as if I have to empty my whole clip and watch as the gun hops away. The TTD is really bad, it feels like 1 shot kills me and more often than not I hear the sound of the hits after I'm dead on the floor. Not being able to see people is disappointing for sure. To me right now this game just isn't a lot of fun, its work to be have a good game and try to win it. I'm a BF2,BF3 and BF4 fan and wish it felt more like those.

DICE response to the slower TTK (time to kill).

                https://www.reddit.com/r/Battlefield...nity_new_core/

                Hi Battlefield Community,

On behalf of the Battlefield team, I’d like to apologize for the silence over the past couple of days on the TTK topic. We’ve seen it’s been a big talking point and causing a divide in the community, which was never our intention. We have been listening closely to what you’ve all been saying.

Changes to the game carrying this kind of weight needs clearer, earlier communication before getting rolled out. We will improve how we roll out updates in the future and respond more quickly when you have questions or concerns.

So, why change TTK now? The intent came from us observing that new players are having a very hard time with the game compared to our core players, and we wanted to see if we could improve this over the holidays so more players can have a great time.

As many of our veteran players know, Battlefield games constantly evolve and change over time in our collaboration with the community. Battlefield V is no exception. We heard your feedback that many of you prefer the old TTK values, with one playlist featuring only Conquest using the “Core” settings clearly not being enough. To fix that, we will be adding a “Core” version of all playlists in the game next week, giving you a clearer choice between new and old settings. We’ll update you early next week on when the new playlist will be added.

We want to hear from you about the changes we’re making. We’d also like to thank all of you for the constructive discussions and feedback we’re seeing. Thank you.

                  Re: Battlefield V

JackFrags' video about their response is spot on. Regardless of whatever their data says, they are basically telling their CURRENT player base to deal with it and they want the ones not playing. Furthermore, DICE barely communicated it - announced it a day before it went live via Reddit - so how would new players or those that played and stopped know about the change? There wasn't an official patch, it was done via a server-side patch so no pop-up or anything when launching the game.

I did buy the game and played it for a bit, then didn't play it for about a week. The primary issue was that I couldn't see the enemy and it frustrated me. After watching some gameplay online, I realized my frustration was because I was trying to use previous BF tactics and how I play games like Overwatch. The TTK wasn't the issue because once I saw my enemy and was in an engagement, I thought the gameplay was good. I had to learn that BF5 is MUCH different and slower pace...once I took my time, my enjoyment skyrocketed.

Sorry but this is still about as far as far from correct as you can get... splitting the player base before there's even hardcore is a terrible approach. HC is already an inherent way to split the players up. I know it's not here yet, but I'm REALLY hoping it's coming.

My point is, if/when it comes now the entire player base is split into thirds?! This is not a good scenario. It's been hard enough to keep this game relevant and keep everyone happy.

Fix what you've broken, but at some point too many options is not a good thing.

Yeah I was curious about this too - it happened about 2 patches ago on PS4.

Any way to turn it back on?

I was looking in the control options, thought it got turned off in an update but everything I turned on did not do anything. I googled it also and did not see anything.
