Sorry but this is still about as far as far from correct as you can get... splitting the player base before there's even hardcore is a terrible approach. HC is already an inherent way to split the players up. I know it's not here yet, but I'm REALLY hoping it's coming.

My point is, if/when it comes now the entire player base is split into thirds?! This is not a good scenario. It's been hard enough to keep this game relevant and keep everyone happy.

Fix what you've broken, but at some point too many options is not a good thing.

I just got the game and have only played conquest mode... did they make TTK faster or slower? I'm not following what they've done because my only reference is the games I've played which are already 'updated'...

Big win for the community. I'm surprised...I felt they would adjust it to be between the TTK from launch and the recent update but I'm glad they're going back to original.

I just got the game and have only played conquest mode... did they make TTK faster or slower? I'm not following what they've done because my only reference is the games I've played which are already 'updated'...

It was faster than normal BF out of the box....now they're struggling to find a good balance.

I'm getting my butt kicked in this game. Seems like I can't get a kill at all. In Battlefield 4 I'm always at the top of the list at the end of the match. Yesterday I was so bad in V I actually got kicked out of the squad I was in. Not sure what the problem is but I really suck at this game for some reason.

I understand the power of a community coming together, but I think the statistics they gathered were going to lead to this anyways.The Core servers were significantly harder to get into and I'm glad they are going one direction and not splitting the player base anymore.

I've got about 50 hours played and I'm all ready bored with the game. I don't see how anyone at DICE can op test some of these game modes and servers like Conquest Assault/Hamada and say "This is what Battlefield should be." That map is entirely too large and pointless. D-E-F-G is actually a cool area and could have served as it's own map. I don't know anyone who actually likes Conquest Assault. It sucked in BF1 too.

Panzerstorm is another map that's entirely too big. Some of the engagements on the capture points are a lot of fun, but the map being as large as it is really lowers it's quality for me. You can spend most of a match at one or two flags sometimes and one or two squads can't really impact the outcome of the round.

The game really puts a lot of emphasis on ADS and using a scope. In past games I sometimes preferred to run my classes with iron sights, but you're at a real disadvantage if you're not using some type of scope on your gun in BFV. I hate that I paid so much to be part of a big beta for DICE. I love Battlefield and the sky really isn't falling, but after all of these years and community feedback the finished product with BFV is disappointing. It's starting to feel like this game may be another 6 months away from being really good.

Saw this on sale on PSN (thru 1/8 I believe) for $30 so I decided to give it chance. Spent an hour in online over my lunch break this afternoon and I'm having fun with it so far. I really like the global operations mode or whatever it's called

The gameplay really is great...EA/DICE just continue to shoot themselves in the foot. EA even had to adjust its revenue forecast for investors after terrible BFV sales (I think it was $400M less than expected?).

Lol, I know what you mean about waiting. We shoulda known about deep discounts at Christmastime, I guess. Oh well, I'm having fun with it.

About those sales...400m under expectation???? If that is actual fact, that is a staggering number to be off by. Maybe 40m?

It was incorrect conclusion by a site I read yesterday...they posted a retraction today.

I do think having the game 50% off not even a month after release is very telling.

I'm having a lot of fun with this game now that my buddy got it and I am not playing with randoms, but I still hate how fast paced this series has become. It's fun getting 40-50 kills a match, but I honestly miss the speed of BF2 and even BC2. It just seems since BF3 they've gone faster and faster. This one is slightly slower and less chaotic than BF1 which is why I like it so much more among other reasons, but as much fun as I have with this game I still get tired of the pace. Part of that is probably because I play Grand Operations and it centers all of the attention on small regions of the maps, but it's easily the best mode to get some semblance of teamwork as Conquest is just all over the place without much coordination among squads.


Maybe I am too used to playing other games like Squad and the Red Orchesta/Rising Storm and am used to Commanders and Squad Leaders communicating and full-scale cooperation and planning in those games spoiled me, but it just feels this series lacks any true cooperation among squads anymore. I might also have nostalgia blocking my memory on how BF2 and BC2 were also, but I feel like they even had more teamwork across the board, BF2 more than any of them since.

I got the game for Christmas & have been enjoying it the little that I've played. One of the biggest issues is it's very hard to see the enemy. It doesn't help with the bloom lighting & crushed blacks. Really wears on the eyes so can only play for so long then need a break.

You're right about there being NO semblance of teamwork in Conquest. It feels completely non-existent and the battles are just all over the place.

I also started playing with a buddy who just upgraded his rig, and it's been way better, even with just 2 of us. We've been playing Breakthrough which has been really fun. We should give Grand Operations a try. I think those modes are actually similar other than being on multiple maps.
