The Missle Reversal skill is a GAMECHANGER.

Might be my favorite part of Valhalla actually.

Why are the two handed axe stats so weak? They look the same as a one handed one. Am I missing something? Would have thought they would be higher since you can’t hold a shield or another weapon.

If you enjoyed the time period in this game, there's a really good netflix series called The Last Kingdom.

One of the actors in the series was actually the voice actor for the male Eivor.

                  Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

I’m 25-30 hours in and I’m only a power 70. So much more to do. This is a long game and I’ve enjoyed it but I preferred Odyssey. There was too much loot in Odyssey but it was way better than this system of very little loot. And when you do find it you won’t even use it unless you spend a ton of crap upgrading it. As a result I largely stick with the same armour and weapons the entire time. And that isn’t nearly as fun. In Odyssey I was constantly using my best stuff and I got new stuff every hour. I would switch from many different weapon types. Heavy weapons were usable. I feel heavy and slow weapons here are a real negative in Valhalla. The lack of variety as a result, despite a few more combat options with weapons, ends up being a negative for me compared to Odyssey.

The story and grittier nature of the game is fine. I liked Kassandra better in Odyssey tho. The settlements just feel like busy work for me too.

I think the puzzle nature of finding some treasure fun in Valhalla. I like the non-snow environments a little better too. But overall Odyssey > Valhalla. I’d still give Valhalla at least an 8/10 right now so I’m not hammering it.

I know I am in the minority here, but I am really disappointed in the Yule Event. I am glad its free because they have tied the store and bonus stuff to having to be online which doesn't allow me to get any of the stuff. Plus it is really a bit buggy and kind of a mess.

As this becomes a more popular element in gaming is really turning me off to continuing this hobby with the newer games.

Just bought this game on the PS Store and downloading now. Can’t wait to play.

I was planning on skipping AC Valhalla and purchasing Cyberpunk. However, because the Cyberpunk launch was so messy, I will wait for a PS5 optimization patch in 2021.

I have done barely any side missions. Just looted, raided and main missions and I’m already over 40 hours and power 100 and I feel like the story may finally be going somewhere. I’m not even sure. Game says I’m 60% done.

Not only do I miss the abundant loot of Odyssey I also miss being able to customize my look. I was always switching things up.

Very minor spoiler (if at all).

                          Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Game beat, took about 90 hours of play time. I feel as though the game could have been way better if they fleshed all the aspects out. It was one of those rare moments when a game tried to be everything but didn't do one thing exceptionally well. It is a ton of stuff to do in the game, but being majority if not all of it has no impact on the storyline, felt pointless. After awhile I got tired of the whole Sigurd thing. Being you really don't get back story on him, I didn't care about him what so ever. The loot system was annoying too.

The last 1/3 of the game I was like, okay why ? I was waiting and waiting for something epic. Like the entire game I thought that was what we were building up to. Nothing. The ending was a let down. The last 2 boss fights were totally weird. I give the game a 8 out of 10 though. 2/3 of the game had me hooked. Graphically the game is mighty pretty.

I did. You have to be semi aggressive and watch out for his attacks.

I did not finish Odyssey and was hesitant to buy Valhalla. But wow, I am really enjoying this game. I just arrived in England and finished my first raid.

Playing in the PS5 and the game is beautiful. I’m really enjoying the combat and early story arc. Can’t wait to dive deeper into this over the holidays.
