Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
I mean, you have to hold the button to initiate it. So it's not exactly easy to accidentally trigger. Sent from my phone. Please excuse the erroneous auto-corrects.Comment

No problem. And having to hold the button is good. That makes me happy. Thanks again.Comment

Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Yeah I keep doing the same thing. I think some of it might by my old PS4 controller and how worn out it is. I don’t remember having this issue with Odyssey or Origins.
The only negative I have, and admittedly I’m only 2-3 hours in, is the combat pales in comparison to Ghosts of Tshunima which is to be expected IMO.
Loving the scenery though!

Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
I am really feeling this release. I am going full slow burn with this one. I have removed every HUD and onscreen prompt I could. Just embracing having to explore and learn the world.
I am loving the lack of equipment sets. Though the lack of one handed swords is about the stupidest design decision I have seen in a good while. Two handed sword did not even really exist at this point and the Viking Sword is a staple of their culture. It just doesn't make sense. They are in every single other AC game except for the one that would be the coolest one to have them in? Just confused on that one. But back on point. I am glad that in this one we are not chasing 7 different sets of the same armor all the time. For me that got really old in Odyssey.
I am just pushing 15 hours and have not left the North yet for England. In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Has anyone updated to the PS5 version, yet? I know it's early, but I was wondering if anyone had anything to share on that and transferring their saves over. Going to be doing that tonight.#LFC

Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
This game honestly feels like it's going to have too much bloat just like Odyssey, which I never finished everything on because it became incredibly tedious.
Guess I should put this in spoilers
SpoilerIn order to gain the trust of the first section I tried (plus find and assassinate one of the 20 or so Order members), I needed to do 3 different rescue missions. Followed by ANOTHER mission for each of the 3.
If that's going to be the case for everywhere you go on the map, that's going to be crazy.
Game is nice looking and I enjoy it so far, but we'll see if it can continue like this without becoming a slog.
Biggest tip for combat is learn the timing on the parry.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 11-13-2020, 02:56 PM.Comment

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
I like the change to side quests being a little shorter and localized. Also having the mysteries be either a quick side quest or a variety of other activities gives a nice balance. The little side quests have been pretty entertaining too.
The game does a really good job of taking you to most of the places on the map in a new area organically. So you should always follow the story and then do cleanup in the area after if you want. I made the mistake of exploring on my own a lot in the first area I went to. So I found myself being forced to re-clear an area as part of the story that I had already completed.
I loved the way Origins was set up, but thought Odyssey took that style and made it just a bit too big to the point where it was hard to finish. I am glad they made these tweaks for Valhalla. Enjoying it a lot so far. It keeps me wanting to keep going, that’s for sure.
EDIT: As a side note I find myself being very interested in this story because all these guys are interesting characters in one of the start dates of CK2/3 that I have played a lot.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 11-15-2020, 01:36 PM.Comment

Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Game is a ton of fun. Story weaves together quite nicely, and I'm not finding too many tedious side quests... yet!Twitch: Goblue81188Comment
