Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
I had it on the XSX and it looked crazy good. I just got it for the PS5 and it is a slight step down as far as graphics IMO but on my LG CX it still looks pretty darn good.
Just dl’d Watchdogs but haven’t played it as of yet. Now MLB The Show 20. OMG this game looks too good.

Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
So I was walking by that boy merchant in camp and he telling the children the story of Bayek and his wife. I thought it was pretty cool. I stood there and listened to the story. Enemies with the crossbows are DEADLY. The people dressed up like knights are extremely powerful, maybe too powerful. Even at level 113 I can't beat one that is a level 90.Comment

Man I totally agree. I spent a lot of time this weekend fooling with my TV and Series X settings thinking something was wrong. I have a C9 OLED and this game looks terrible Imo. Other than the Show and Spiderman, not much that I've played shows Next Gen potential. Even Watch Dogs Legion looks bad.
What settings are you using. I recently changed my my settings on my CX to match this video and I think it looks a little better. Basically you get the full 4.4.4 chroma instead of 4.2.2.

Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
So umm, you get to go to
SpoilerVinland in the game. I thought it was cool to interact with the Indian tribe there. Also get to see the apple of Eden because one of the Order of The Ancients had it there.
Other then that, my favorite weapon in the game is the regular short handed axe or a hammer. Big axe, sword and spear is way too slow to use. Fighting in a crowd with one of those big weapons is damn near a death sentence due to how slow they are. Far as bows, I prefer the hunter or predator bow.
I'm hoping you get to get a
SpoilerCrossbow in the game.Comment

Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
I was thinking they might do it since it is based on Vikings but didn't know if Ubisoft would go that far. They did, visually you don't see it happening, but you hear it happening.
SpoilerIvarr gave a King the blood eagle. Then afterwards he tells you he killed Chelbert just to get you to agree to go after the king. You end up killing Ivarr. Ivarr is an excellent fighter too.Comment

Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
One of my complaints with Odyssey, which I loved, was that you levelled up so fast and found so much good weapons loot that there was virtually no reason to upgrade your weapons. Upgrades were pricey and in no time you would find something better.
Well I would much prefer the system of Odyssey than the Valhalla system of playing for hours and not getting any loot. Finding a new weapon is rare. I don’t really like it. Plus Odyssey had a lot of cool weapon types that were fun. Hoping to see more weapons soon. Granted I’m only about 10-12 hours in but it’s very different that way.Comment

Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Yeah Odyssey gave you too much loot with nothing to spend it on. Valhalla give you very little loot with stuff to spend it on but take dozens of hours to save for. And the discovery of weapons and gear is annoying in Valhalla. The map is huge and stuff is just too spread out in the oddest places. Then some of the loot you have to work so hard for to get to it and when you open up the chest it be like here you go, 5 strips of leather. Be pissing me off. Like dude I did all this stuff to get to you and that is all I get ?
That is the main reason I don't bother hunting. You get so little for it as well. Like how do I get the same amount for a bear that I get with a rabbit ? Loot balance is unbalanced in this game. I'm 53 hours in and level 145. I have to find some gold colored ingot that I have yet to discover in the world in order to level up my weapons and gear even higher then it is. The fact you can't buy it unless you discover it first is annoying.
I find this game to rely heavily on the ability tree and runes. So you have to find the right balance between the two to have success. Them runes help a lot so make sure you have them on your pieces of gear and weapons. Strongest part of Valhalla is the storyline. The weakest part have to be the loot balance. Raiding and the whole settlement thing is kind of lackluster. I wish you had more control of your people and it actually mattered in the game. I was hoping it would be like Brotherhood where you can send them out to different areas and they did stuff on their own, but it isn't.
Despite all that, you definitely get your money's worth. 53 hours in and I'm only 44% progression.Comment

Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Loading times and frame rate. Maybe they will come out with a graphical next gen patch in the future. If not, we will just have to wait for the next AC to see a true NG version.Last edited by Americas Team; 11-29-2020, 08:29 AM.Xbox Series X: KILLMUNGERComment

SpoilerI made it to the part where you can fight and kill Dag. That dude was annoying for a long time. When that cutscene happened and the option popped up, I yelled YES !!!!!!Comment

Re: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Unless there are a lot of archers around on a raid I’m sticking with dual wield. It’s fun. You can still parry so I don’t see a downside other than not being able to block arrows. Being able to hold L1 to swing my chain and then attack is great. Just picked up the charge ability and used that with great effect plus a great stomp to finish it off lol.

Loot balance is a bit off, but I certainly like the story and world and more than I did with Odyssey.Twitch: Goblue81188Comment
