This video is really good and informative.

The level of customization here for a FPS is unparalleled if it works right.

I can’t wait for this game. Everything that’s been coming out for it all sounds real good.

Looks like this game is going to be a blast to play. I expect the first month or so will have the usual hiccups all Battlefield games have, but I think people will be playing this game for a long time.

Looks like they've finally listened to the community and built a game we wanted.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

I'll be doing all the non-futuristic stuff. I bet there will be loads of games/servers with drones etc disables - which is great and only made possible by such a player-centric game mode/option. Love it.

              Re: Battlefield 2042 - Launching October 2021

This is how you create a solid base that WILL work with a live service model. When you give the users this level of sandbox-ness to do essentially whatever they want to do then it is much more viable to just focus on adding content each new season.

If they can iron out the issues that are going to appear at launch and then make sure the core gameplay is done right, then this game will have the base to sustain a very long life. There will be no need for a brand new Battlefield game for maybe even 5+ years if they handle this right.

I will gladly spend money on this game post launch if the core gameplay is done well and they deliver on their content schedules. If seriously get 2 new maps for 2042 and 2 new maps for the Portal along with new factions, weapons, etc. from past games every season then this game is going to have an incredible amount of content and you can bet I will feel no regret giving EA/Dice/Ripple additional money. I'll want to show support for this type of setup.

I just don't see how this won't be a potential GOAT in the genre if they don't make any major mistakes. If you are telling me that I can fire up the game and have the movement and gunplay of BF V, but even more refined, along with beautiful graphics, destruction, etc. and I can play in a futuristic setting, a historical WWII setting, a modern setting, etc. and have plenty of content for any of those settings, then I see no reason why I won't pump hours and hours and hours into this.

If they play their cards right, they could literally make this game a better and more accurate WWII game than even BF V is. There will be nights where I want some WWII action and it looks like this game will deliver there. There will be nights where I want to experience the base game. I will have that. There will be plenty of nights where I want to play with classic Bad Company 2 and BF3 units and weapons and the game will give me that.

This is incredible. If they don't botch this, this game could be a gold mine for them and the players as well. They will have a game that will be printing them money if they play their cards right, and the fact that it will have all of this various content from past games as well should potentially help not split the playerbase as much.

              I'm beyond excited for this.

I've pre-ordered this digitally (I buy 99% of games on disc so I can trade it in) because this game looks like a game I never delete from my PS5. I could not be more hyped for this. The fact that they did this (and the trailers and info released so far) tells me they've learned from BFV and know if they embrace their long time fans with what they want, they can create a GOAT game and print money at the same time.

First time I’m NOT excited about a BF game.

All this vehicle based trailers are turning me off

And all the maps from BF3 we couldn’t get grand Bazaar or Seine Crossing? No Dice went the lazy route with Caspain Border SMH

Caspian Border is one of the GOAT maps in the series. I would love to see Grand Bazaar and/or Seine Crossing, though. Both were great maps, too.

I'm simply looking forward to the Portal and hoping there are some servers that are WWII factions, weapons, and vehicles that pretty much eliminate all of the attachments that are in V. Give me some iron sights on all guns except for some bolt actions.

We can get a more authentic WWII experience than what V offers and I'm all for it.

I had that map filtered out hated that Map. But of course loves their wide open maps with trees and bushes sprinkled here and there. Of course they would pick the laziest and easiesT map to recreate

How on earth would you consider what DICE is doing as "lazy"? Portal is phenomenal news with a likelihood of additional old maps being added.

The 2042 Technical Test started this morning.

I have a friend that got a code on PC.

I'm not too pressed about not getting one. Everything is subject to change, it's probably a really old build of the game, optimized poorly, etc. It's nice to see something but I'll take whatever leaks with a giant grain of salt.

I'm sure most of it will get taken down but some videos are starting to circulate.

What a bleh video. I still wish we had nameless soldiers with good customization and whatnot like we are used to, but we will see how it goes. When you try and make these unique characters, seeing multiple versions of them gets more repetitive than seeing the same nameless and generic faces running around. Unique characters repeating is much more noticeable and takes away from the experience and I expect we will be seeing some matches where there's 10+ of certain characters running around looking silly.
