You didnt miss anything by not playing FF14. Havent spent much time in the beta, but the original release was probably the worst high budget MMO to ever release. It made Star Wars look like a masterpiece.

Re: Official OS General MMO Information Thread
I avoided FF14 like the plague.
It's a shame since I really enjoyed FF11Comment

Re: Official OS General MMO Information Thread
Thought I would post about my GW2 playing because this is the more active of the MMORPG threads.
Finally hit Level 80! Clocked in around 125 hours and took my sweet time. Played a lot of WvW which can be enjoyable for gaining XP and moping up other servers that don't even bother.
Not sure what I want to do next. Whether I keep plugging away for Ascended Gear, start a alt or just go back to playing Rift.
This marks only my third MMO I have reached max level (WoW and DC Universe which doesn't really count I suppose). How many MMOs you reach the max?Comment

Re: Official OS General MMO Information Thread
I'm excited about ArchAge. I've been waiting on that one for a while. I can only hope it delivers on it's PvP promises.
Darkfall 2.0 looks good too. Though Darkfall 1.0 looked good before I played the beta...
Then there is Camelot Unchained, a psuedo sequel to Dark Age of Camelot as best as I can tell.
Age of Wushu looks like it might be fun for a bit. I'm 100% anti micro transaction based games, but it doesn't hurt to give it a try.
I'm probably in the minority on this, but I'm not really a fan of the current trend for MMO's to go away from the "holy trinity" in favor jack of all trades type characters.Last edited by KSUowls; 04-14-2013, 07:19 PM.Comment

I am still on the fence about kickstarting Camelot... it is between that game and Battle Worlds Kronos and I cant decide which will get my 25 or 30 bucksI'm excited about ArchAge. I've been waiting on that one for a while. I can only hope it delivers on it's PvP promises.

Shameless bump part 2.
Its not XI, its not WoW, its not GW2 and its not RIFT.
Its like a smooth blend of most of my favorite parts of MMO gaming. SE has restored my faith after one over half day of gaming.
That is to say, if the end game is properly in place and intelligently done... I have found my new MMO to play - and some people here know how much I bounce between MMOs.
Now, there are still some decisions I disagree with (centralized auction houses suck for MMOs) but in this day and age I've come to accept that I can't change that.Last edited by ubernoob; 04-19-2013, 08:26 PM.badComment

Re: Official OS General MMO Information Thread
Neverwinter Open Beta starts today for Hero of the North purchasers, and the 27th for Guardian purchasers. 30th for anybody who wants to try it.
After playing in all 4 beta weekends, I absolutely cannot wait. There are no character wipes happening from open beta, either, so for all intents and purposes, this is a soft launch.Comment

I didn't purchase a pack (too many MMOs I'm playing right now to justify it) but will definitely be hopping in on the 30th to check things out. I had fun in the earlier beta, especially for being a F2P.
We'll see how release turns out for us freeloaders.badComment

Re: Official OS General MMO Information Thread
yeah I enjoyed the beta weekend I played in, but not enough to purchase a 60 buck pack and the 20 dollar pack hardly seemed worth it.Awesome, good to hear.

Re: Official OS General MMO Information Thread
Yeah.
I actually went back to XI this week and started over, and am having a blast.
I think when ARR comes out, I'm keeping XI alive (for the more grindy type game I like) and ARR for a quicker play. Love them both.badComment

Re: Official OS General MMO Information Thread
I enjoyed the first few beta weekends so much, I bought all three packs...
And I'm absolutely loving the game, got to my mounts already, and the founder packs give you that "Greycloak's Legacy" weapon, which is absolutely absurd at early levels. A regular weapon might hit for 24-30, whereas you have this legacy weapon that hits for 80-105 at level 1 instead. It's basically an overpowered "get you through the low levels easier while you have no skills" helper item. Becomes a bit useless the closer you get to level 20, though.Comment

I am looking forward to Tuesday however.Comment
