500,000 * 14.99... That's 7.5 million per month. Obviously there are running costs that knocks it down but there is still great profit to be made.

Tons of money to be made. Servers/bandwidth/storage are all so cheap these days. Biggest cost is the setup investment.

Final Fantasy X|V: A Realm Reborn launches August 27th.

I haven't been this excited about an MMO release since I was 12 and got the original EverQuest the day it came it.

It's fun to play, it's BEAUTIFUL and my god the sense of scale (between characters and environment) is near perfect.

A side note on that last little thing: I enjoyed playing RIFT, but I always felt like I was a miniature. The graphics were very nice, but something about the character sizing or camera aspect just felt off. Not so with X|V:ARR.

Phase 3 should start in a week or two.

I am legitimately giddy about this game. Playing the beta has restored my faith in SquEnix. Obviously for Phase 1+2 content was very limited (only like 4 jobs and one area available) but it was impressive. Nobody has touched end game, but I have a feeling it will be done very well - though I can't say that for sure.

This remake of the worst MMO launched in history is nothing short of amazing and I can't give YoshiP and the rest of the dev team enough praise.

Yeah.

I bought the original collector's edition when the game first launched, so I get all of those. I just pre-ordered the digital download of the regular game so I get the pre-order bonuses (early access mainly, since I don't have a legacy account.)

If I had no account, I would have bought the CE hands down - but since I get all the in game stuff the only thing I truly want out of the new CE is the soundtrack... Hopefully they sell that separate on their website at some point, otherwise I may have to eBay it (but I'd rather pay SE.)

Can you honestly name me a free-to-play MMO that you've enjoyed for 6+ months without paying either a sub, or the equivalent of $20+ monthly (be it a 100 dollar purchase once, etc.)?

I'm willing to bet most people can't.

Runes of Magic. I played that game for nearly a year without paying a dime. Wasn't too bad. You could buy items out of the item shop with in game gold so that really kept me there longer. I'd still be playing, but friends stopped playing.

Couldn't be more pumped for XIV right now..

Are any of you that plans on playing it have a specific server you're going to in the retail version? I plan on following my HNM linkshell from XI to which ever server they will be playing on if you guys would want to come to that server as well.. Maybe make it the unofficial OS server..

I'm in a multi game guild (like, featured chapters across 10+ games, and active presence in many more) so I'll be rolling where they go - just don't know where yet because details of the servers haven't really been released yet.

Could be worse as our XIV chapter cleared quite a bit of content in 1.x. All are rolling with their present existing characters so we have a healthy crowd with most jobs maxed but I'm starting fresh on whatever server they go with.

Ordered the XIV PS3 collector's edition yesterday as soon as Amazon updated their info with the pre order bonuses, no pre order code (for early access, Cait Sith minion, and Mog cap).. Saw on forums that people were getting their codes.. Cancelled my order and re-ordered, got my pre-order code immediately.
