I'm on the Dragon server, so when you get on, let me know. I haven't grouped much in this outside of the Dungeon runs.

Re: Official OS General MMO Information Thread
I'm late to the party, but I'm downloading DC Universe Online right now. It's my first MMO ever.
Saw a friend playing it on his computer last night, so I decided to give it a shot, except on my PS3 because I don't think that my computer is good enough for gaming.Boston Red Sox

Plopping this here because it's topic-relevant and cracks me up. I'm sure we've all run into people like this.
Also because Amy Okuda.

Re: Official OS General MMO Information Thread
How is it? I haven't played Darkfall since the original closed beta, but I keep hearing that they've re-worked a lot of the things people complained about originally.Comment

Re: Official OS General MMO Information Thread
It's not horrible. I can see the work they've made, so I supported it - but it's not the game for me to be quite honest. Between the two titles, the difference is night and day (especially with the addition of safe zones to start out in and the effective removal of macrobots.)badComment

Also, for those of you who will hop into Neverwinter to play...
I'm on the Dragon server, to add me to friends list its Ulvein@ubernoobdhk . Shoot me a tell if you join up - it's fun to pass the time with, especially for a f2p game.badComment

Re: Official OS General MMO Information Thread
Didn't realize it was out yet. I'll look into downloading it and giving it a shot.
Edit: Downloading the open beta now. The download servers must be getting hit hard, cause it's slooow.Last edited by Holic; 04-29-2013, 07:31 PM.Comment

Re: Official OS General MMO Information Thread
Ill give Neverwinter a shot and see how it goes. Wasnt even on my radar at all.
...edit....
And Im done already. Wow this game looks like garbage. Made it past the tutorial and into the main city and that was enough for me. F2P or not, they just dialed this in with the Neverwinter name and are gonna try to capitalize with the cash shop.Comment

Re: Official OS General MMO Information Thread
See I thought the cash shop was relatively unobtrusive, compared to other games.
There is absolutely nothing you need to buy off of it. They have the random lockboxes with keys of course, but you can sell those on the AH for the diamonds. Everything else in the game can be obtained just by playing it.
Not a game for the long-term, but not a horrible play to me. I'm just biding my time until Final Fantasy XIV though so I'm not really looking for anything special right now.badComment

Oh I have no problem with the cash shop and didnt even look at it. My issue is that the game is shovelware with a Neverwinter name on it to draw in consumers with the F2P approach.See I thought the cash shop was relatively unobtrusive, compared to other games.

We have people submit titles as part of their resume packages that are coming straight from school that are better than this. This title is a disgrace to the Neverwinter franchise. Had this game been released with a generic title that didnt draw consumers in, it would be DOA.Comment

Re: Official OS General MMO Information Thread
I thought Tera was pretty innovative in the combat department. It was more action paced, had great graphics and animations, and a pretty decent enviroment.
My greatest fear is that they are destroying the market. These games are costing 10s of millions of dollars..upwards to 300 million on the high end scale to develop and release and they fail.
Instead of publishers looking at the development studios to place the blame, they just convince themselves that the market is changing and there is no place for the MMOs of yesteryear.
The Elder Scrolls is going to be the next major diaster and the consumer base will be blamed, not the development studio or publishers for releasing sub par products with a ton of wasted overhead.
Apparently there was some problem with the game rendering in the wrong resolutions which was making it like terrible on some systems. Whatever it was has been fixed and it is much better now.Comment

Re: Official OS General MMO Information Thread
Checking out Neverwinter right now, interesting so far. Seems kind of like a bigger Diablo MMO so far just based off the combat which isn't bad as I like Diablo but it got bland after you beat it once. Could be a decent time waster when i'm bored over the summer being home.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment
