Looks like I decided to get back into PC gaming at the right time and stumbled into here. I've played three MMOs in my life, FFXI, WoW and RIFT. I think I had the most fun in FFXI, so I'm very excited to learn about a new FF MMO, even if it is a relaunch. I guess I somehow missed the original FFXIV, although there was a long period where I didn't really keep up with PC gaming at all so that would explain why.

You didn't miss much with the original FFXIV.

This one feel more like WoW than it does XI. Still differentiates itself enough from both. They also have FATES, which are somewhat akin to rifts opening in RIFT (though, obviously, it won't be rifts opening. Just public quests where you have to kill <x>.)

So have you been playing any of the beta or such? What is the combat like with this one?

I have. It's fast paced and a point of contention amongst beta members but they forget they were limited to 3 classes and were still low leveled.

I enjoyed it.

If you played the original ffxiv you have beta access when it starts tomorrow. Phase 4 should be open beta though.

Nope didnt play it. I only played ffx1. Phase 4 hopefully then.

My guild is on Excalibur (a legacy server) so I will be there. I'll be starting at level 1. Well, starting at whatever level I get to during open beta/early access.

I don't think OS has ever talked about server selection for it.

I think my LS will be rolling in Behemoth server for beta, and then Sargatanas for the official release. We were planning to transfer but Sargatanas ended up being named one of the US regional servers so it's sounding like that's where they're going to stay.

Apparently NA PS3's haven't got their codes yet.. JP's got theirs on like, Tuesday, some EU's got their's today, some NA's got codes but somehow linked to the EU Playstation site.. There's some rumors that NA's won't get their codes until next week to play in test 2 of phase 3, which would be next weekend.

Got my PS3 code at 7 am EST almost on the dot. Downloading/installing now.
