Re: best way to tone up?
Here's my workout routine and eating plan in case anyone is interested. Like I said, I'm by no means a fittness expert, but this is what has worked for me over the years. That's what exercise and nutrition is all about, what works for YOU. Everybody's body is different and responds different. My routine is a combination of bits and pieces I've aquired over periods of time. I have energy during the day, I look good, and most importantly I feel good.
WORKOUT ROUTINE
Day 1- Chest, Back, Biceps
Day 2- Cardio, Abs
Day 3- Legs, Shoulders, Triceps
Day 4- Cardio, Abs
Day 5- Cycle Repeats
I also take a day or two off every now and then, usually on Sundays.
EATING PLAN
I eat six small meals a day, eating a meal every 2 to 3 hours. Here's an example of one day.
7am- 2 cups Special K cereal with 1 cup skim milk(I also take a multivitamin)
9:30am- Protein Shake and 1 piece of fruit (banana, apple, etc.)
12:30pm- Turkey Sandwich, 1 small bag baked chips, 1 diet coke
3:30pm- Protein Shake and 1 piece of fruit
6:30pm- 1 cup cottage cheese and 1 bagel
9:30pm- 3 pieces of baked chicken and 1 baked potatoHow I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year. Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.Comment

It does indeed work, but you have to be careful about dehydration when using it. It acts as a diuretic on the body. Just make sure to drink a lot of good old H20 when using creatine.Originally posted by Briman123Creatine works...How I wish, how I wish you were here. Re: best way to tone up?
I have been trying to cut the fat out of my diet and am going to try working out more regularly and eating less. (no more three big meals.) I am going to try th six small meals route.
is there a website, or can anyone give me say a weekly plan for what to eat for the 6 meals?
I dont have much imagination when it comes to this, and dont want to be eating the same thing over and over

Re: best way to tone up?
Just an update. I am doing very well with my new lifestyle. Changing my eating habits has helped tremendously, and the fat is coming off nicely. Like I said, I am by no means fat, but did have some flab that was unfavorable.
I have been working out regularly. I have lost 2" off of my waist, and now, none of my stinkin pants fit anymore, lol. But things are progressing nicely, and am getting back in to great shape. I'd like to thank this thread for that.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: best way to tone up?
heres a thread bump.
im just wondering how everyone is doing, those of whom have changed their eating habits.
with the summer nearly here, bbq's seem to be occuring more frequently. quite possibly the hardest time of year to stay on a diet. although its prime season for some good fruits, so theres an alternative there, sorta.
anyways, for me, school has ended. no more eating out while at school. ive lost 5 lbs in 2 weeks by just eating better.Comment

Re: best way to tone up?
Wow...just reading the 19 pages of this thread is very inspirational. I am also in a dilemna here.
I am an eighteen year old who is 6'4 185 pounds. I used to play basketball for my HS two years ago. I am in shape but my chest and lower stomach are very embarassing. My chest is the result of taking steriods for my sinus problems while I was young. The stomach is from eating basically anything I want to.
Positives- My body is clean, literally!(lol) I have never drinked, smoked or anything or that nature. I have a very high metabolism. I lift weights three times a week and I try to run a mile on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I do NOT eat fast food. My mother(
) cooks various healthy food(greens, beans, peas, mixed vegetables).
Negatives- I hate my chest. It is very big in size but I have a little fat around the nipples. Its not gross or anything, but I hate it. My abs are very defined. The lower portion on my stomach, below my belly button, stick out a bit.
Lately, I haven't been able to run on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I admit that I love food. Keep striving for your ideal weight! Thanks for the help!PSN Handle: StarseComment

Re: best way to tone up?
Good work out schedule. The only thing that I would change is do triceps with the chest and not biceps do that on a difference day! Bench pressing workout the triceps, so you need some time to rest! But if it works and you are getting bigger then stay with it.Originally posted by Victor99Here's my workout routine and eating plan in case anyone is interested. Re: best way to tone up?
That is cool! My advice to you would be keep your bigger pants around. In case you pack it back on. That is what I have done. I have a bunch of 34 and 32. Right now I am 34 lol. But when I want to lose weight I have my 32. That way I don't have to buy new pants lol.Originally posted by WTFJust an update. I am doing very well with my new lifestyle. Re: best way to tone up?
I was just searching for some stuff and found this. I've definitely read some good helpful advice in this thread.
Here's kinda my story:
Back in March, I was eating very unhealthy. I had basically gotten to where I wasn't happy at 187lbs, no muscle at all. I decided I was going to start eating in moderation. Quickly after, I realized just how high my metabolism was. Within 5 weeks, I was down to 165lbs.
However, i slowly stopped eating in moderation, and crept back upwards. Then in early August, I decided to start drinking soft drinks. Mind you, I hadn't had a soft drink since January of 2004, so over two and a half years. I drank anywhere from 4 to 8 a day, and bam....I was back up to 182lbs and very unhappy again.
So on October 1st, I decided I was going to lose 17 pounds by Halloween. As of today, I've lost about 13 to 14 pounds with just a few days left to go.
165 pounds was my goal weight, but definitely not what I'm satisfied with.
Anyways, I guess here's where I have questions...
What's the best way to get a flat stomach? Just continue to run/jog? Situps/crunches?
I'd also like to start gaining some muscle for once in my life. I probably have some of the weakest muscles known to man. They are basically undeveloped so to speak. Even lifting average things, for more than a few minutes often hurts my muscles in my shoulders. I do have back, beck and shoulder problems (family history as well as accident related) but there's still no excuse.
Would lifting a couple of 8 pound weights do anything at all? Even just to start out with? I don't want to overdo it starting out by lifting ridiculous amounts but at the same time...I don't want to be lifting something that's not even going to help. And I'm not looking to be the Hulk or anything...just something.
Overall, my point is....help me lose my man boobs and get some muscle!

Re: best way to tone up?
Flattening your stomach is HARD work man... and it's going to take quite a bit of effort. I'm almost to where I want to be... and I've been working at it since last year sometime. You need a LOT of cardio, and do full "core" workouts from my experience. Situps and crunches are okay, but they aren't going to give you six pack.
Anyway, just updating for myself as well... Don't know about my weight, as my fiancee' and I aren't together, and she has my scale, lol.. but I'm looking much leaner and fit. Also, finally starting to develop that "mass" that I've been going for. Not a HUGE guy by any means, but I'm happy w/ what I'm looking like at the time. I'm by no means finished... but I'm getting closer to where I can just hope to maintain.
Superstar, bro... check in and let me know how you're doing man...Twitter - WTF_OS
