Most non-smokers act like their a special breed because they choose not to smoke and its real annoying when a person says that they dont "like" ppl who do. How judgemental is that? Just because I smoke, that makes me a bad person? It makes me a weak person? I dont get it. There are enough things in life that can kill you so why hate me? Hate guns or better yet, hate the ppl that make guns. So please, would the non-smokers please get off their high horse, step off the soap box and eat a bowl of bacon grease.
That is all.

Re: How many of you smoke cigarettes?
Originally posted by dieselboyI don't smoke and I think its BS. For example, here at WSU, when its winter, and its freezing, and there is snow and wind, and a smoker has to stand the the freezing weather to get a smoke? or if its pooring down rain, they an't even stand directly next to the building to be covered. Thats lame.
Nope...others should not have to suffer because of ones bad habits. Just like you say they should have to stand in the rain etc...I should have to stay indoors or not enjoying being outside because I have to smell their smoke? it was their choice to smoke, not my choice to smell..if its banned, too bad for them...shouldnt of picked up the habit.Comment

I'm not saying people should be allowed to smoke everywhere, as it is annoying to most non-smokers to smell smoke, but when you are outside, please. You have to stay indoors because you have to smell their smoke? How long are you standing around the smoker? Or how much smoke do you smell/inhale when walking past?
I mean, sure it could potentially be a little annoying, but what about sitting next to someone, (whether on a bus, in a public place, or in a class, etc) and they stink of BO? Is there a law for that? Or what if someone has their music too loud on their portable music player?
I just don't see how a little bit of smoke can really be that annoying.Comment

This may sound cold but if somebody has a coke problem and cant quit, than I would say they're a little bit weak minded.Comment

I agree that smoking isn't the only thing that is bad for you. But smoking can also give other people 2nd hand smoke. The same can't be said, for example, for people who like to drink a lot.
People can choose to smoke if they want but I believe on the issue of smoking inside restaurants/bars, the rights of non-smokers overrides the rights of smokers who want to light up inside.Comment

Not that it the physical act of smoking a cig makes person A better at socializing than person B, but it does make it easier for someone to socialize while smoking with someone else that smokes versus otherwise.Comment

Re: How many of you smoke cigarettes?
Smoking cigarettes is absolutely disgusting, and I don't think I'll ever even try it.
In Calabasas (just west of the San Fernando Valley), they just banned all forms of public smoking, whether indoors or outdoors. Best decision they've ever made and I hope everywhere else adopts this law. I shouldn't have to inhale their crap and cause that much damage to my lungs. Not to mention it smells like crap and is quite possibly the biggest thing a female can do to turn me off.
I do smoke nergileh (or "hookah", for you non Middle-Easterners) sometimes. No nicotine or other addictive elements with it, and it's mainly a social thing. Flavored tobacco, so it actually tastes decent (of course, when set up right). It's a very typical thing to sit around with a bunch of friends and smoke one head for a very long time, just hanging out and having discussions.
That's about the extent of it though. No weed, no cigarettes, no cigars, none of that other crap.Comment

Re: How many of you smoke cigarettes?
Bascially...what it all comes down to, they chose to smoke and then people that didnt shouldnt have to deal with it IMO.
For example..I was at a little league game with my daughter the other night watching my friends nephew and this jack *** had the nerve to step about 7 feet back from the bleechers and start smoking with all these kids around. To me, its very very disrespectful. No one really said anything to him, but he got enough looks and heard enough comments where he didnt do it again the rest of the game.
If I want to go to a bar or somewhere were people smoke, then its my choice to put myself in that sitation...but when I was in college I couldnt step out of a door in some buildings without having to walk into the BS smokers.
I hope it gets banned everywhere.Comment

A "bit of smoke" can affect people's health, body odor cannot.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment
