Whey is a supplement that you should only take if you don't get enough protein from your normal diet. If you get approx 1g per lb of body weight from food you do not need whey.

Also, that guerilla cardio looks pretty good. People are finally starting to see the light on HIIT.

Enlighten me on the Guerilla cardio routine. I must have missed that in this thread.

Read the link below and apply it. The guerilla one is just one of many programs that implement this. You can google HIIT and find tons of programs.

Thanks. I'll have to look into it.

I got lazy and stopped working out in December. Looking to get back into it over the summer.

I think I'll give this HIIT a try, too. I've been working out for about 2 months now and have lost 25 lbs so far. I've kinda hit a plateau I think and maybe this is what I need to get through it. At this point, I'm about 6'3" and 205 lbs, but I've got a little extra body fat I want to get rid of.

I'm going to try that Guerilla Cardio thing tonight I think.

I don't need to lose and weight but I need to get in better shape, I've been getting winded too fast playing basketball and ultimate.

Be prepared to be sore. It's hardcore stuff. What program are you looking at? I assume you're talking High Intensity Interval Training, right?

Just a suggestion for all you newbies who are gung-ho about trying HIIT - make sure you push yourself. If you're not going to the max on every high interval you won't get as much out of it as you should.

And for you guys who aren't in shape or aren't athletes, it's going to kick your arse very hard the first couple times you do it. If you aren't in shape and if you don't basically collapse at the end of your HIIT session from exhaustion then you aren't doing it hard enough.

But, if you push yourself and toughen up and get through it you'll be happy w. the results.

As an ex-college athlete I try to stay in pretty good shape. I was in good playing shape for ball (I play w. all ex-college players too so it's intense) about two years ago when I first read about HIIT.

So the first time I did HIIT I figured I'd be okay since basketball is essentially HIIT. I was wrong. My heart felt like it was ready to explode outta my chest and my legs were so wobbly I was walking like I'd just knocked down my 16th beer of the night.

It had only been three years since my career ended at the time, but wow I was out of shape more than I expected.
