I see them in parking lots mostly but also on tables sometimes. and it's almost always the surgical kind, though the first time I saw a cloth mask laying in a parking lot, it was dark colored and I thought it was someone's panties. I don't even think I've noticed gloves laying around.

Throwing the mask randomly in the parking lot or wherever to them is as normal as disposing of a tissue or food wrapper. Someone else will clean it up.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
A few years back one old house on my street got demolished and it took them the entire year, all day, every day, starting early, ending late, to rebuild a new house.
The new house was fine....or so I thought?
Fast forward to the present day where they demolished the same house and are rebuilding it yet again, all day, every day, loud annoying construction noises.
Was it really necessary to demolish the same house TWICE in not even a 5 year span?
Cant imagine the people on my street who live right beside that. I'd be upset if I had to go through yet another year long construction project next door which wakes me up early every morning and gives me a headache all year long while also covering my car in dust and making it nearly impossible to even go in and out of my own driveway because of all the trucks.Last edited by Majingir; 08-22-2020, 09:18 AM.Comment

Who knows. Though theres one person on my street I've always suspected is part of some sort of fishy business. Only times I ever see him is when he's walking his two giant dogs. He gives off mob/hitman vibes.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
If their building permits expired and the construction continued after the expiration, some laws state the dwelling cannot be occupied. The only way to resolve it is to tear it down and start over. I saw this with an apartment building as a kid. It was vacant for years until the owner lost their final appeal and had the building torn down.
Also, if a building is too close to the edge of the property line, some laws require it be moved or torn down. Some guy lost his garage because he built one wall 16 inches from the edge of the property line. The law said the exterior wall needs to be at least 24 inches from the edge of the property line.
It also could have been a faulty foundation. I vividly remember watching a construction crew pour a concrete foundation during a tropical storm. It was the darnedest thing I ever saw in my neighborhood. Two years later, the weight of the house was literally crushing the foundation and had to be torn down.
And before anyone asks, I tend to remember random things. I'm a dork.
Then again... maybe some idiot forgot one needs to bury Jimmy Hoffa before having the house built on top of him.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Some of those laws are weird. Someone else on my street has an abandoned garage because apparently they didn't have proper permits to build a garage on their own property. Either a neighbour or someone in the building behind theirs complained and got that shut down. They didn't break it down, but can't finish it either. Been like that for years now.
My whole neighborhood is weird. Even my house, technically the fence is on the neighbor's property which has me with a bigger yard because of it. Fence was put up years before I was there. It's a straight line basically which goes through everyone's yard, so everyone on my street has a bigger yard while the one behind ours is smaller.
One day the people behind decided to mail a letter to my house mentioning this, trying to cause trouble over literally like 1 or 2 feet. I ignored it, they never said anything again. I know nothing about property laws, but surely if the fence has been up for enough years, theres nothing they can do anymore?
Although they do try parking their car as close to the fence as possible, and now started cutting down every tree branch on my property that hangs even an inch over the fence (and I suspect they're even reaching over the fence) to the point where the privacy wall naturally created by the trees is now wide open.
Maybe I am neighbors with l3ulvlLast edited by Majingir; 08-29-2020, 01:49 PM.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
but that leads me to me next gripe, my balcony access was taped off while they repainted it, it's been several days and the tape is still there. The paint dried long ago, and other people have used the balcony, including Maniac and his dog.
why is my access still taped off? did they forget to remove it? is everyone else in the wrong, and I'm the only one obeying the tape? I keep being afraid to take my dog out through the indoor steps because I don't have a peephole and Maniac might have his dog in the hall right outside my door. When I use the balcony I can see outside and know before going out if there's crackheads or maniacs or pit bulls, but when I use my other door I can only listen before going out and hope for the best
some of the steps weren't painted, and I saw Maniac telling the maintenance lady the steps were wobbly (note: they're wobbly because his fat *** stomps on them!), so I'm not sure what to do. If I go down the balcony I might get in trouble, but at least I can see what's going on before I go out with the dog. If I go down the indoor steps, I'm following the rules, but I might encounter maniac, pitbulls, and crackheads because I can't see before I go out
