Unfortunately they often put the teens on the registers and they’re going to have to get a supervisor to scan your alcohol anyway.

"Oh yeah we didn't want to be like everyone else and do touristy things so we did our own thing". To be honest, I'm not even sure what that means, but either way it's just such an odd flex.

Touristy things are called that for a reason. Something you can’t do on a regular basis and things that are new and fun.

If you want to go somewhere just to bar hop, that’s cool, it’s just not a flex.

Yeah, it's usually teens or some old lady.

I usually buy my alcohol from gas stations or package stores anyway.

She has been trying to get on a first name basis with me, which she might do with everyone for all I know, but today it went up a notch.

She asked what school i went to, asked if I played sports, and even asked where I live.

          That's abnormal right?

additional details: she points out that she remembers if I want single or double bag, and refers to herself in third person (from my perspective), like "oh, Gina remembers what I like", points out that she remembers if I want a receipt or not, which is more accurate than even I remember. I'm gonna go ahead and say it, she's insane, there's no way she does this for everyone

I don't know if you are single or not, but if you are, make sure you double bag it.

Double bagging actually has more risk of causing a split within the bags due to friction, I would recommend potentially a third bagging when it comes to this situation...

I'll point out that I frequent a local Chinese buffet that gets closed down every three months, and no matter how long between my visits, the lady remembers what I drink, what food I get the most so she can get the cooks to make more, etc. And she seems to do this with everyone that comes in.

Some people are just super extroverted and friendly and thoughtful. You just have to compare how they act with everyone else with how they act with you.

I thought about that, too, she might be a savant and just really talented with memory, but does your local chinese buffet worker ask where you went to HS?

this is another thing I thought about (obviously I'm an over thinker), I'd like to be an invisible man for like 20 minutes and see if she does that with everyone

She had read the “death of customer service” thread on OS and just decided she wants to be what’s right in the world.

Seriously though, it’s okay, she’s just trying to be friendly. Refreshing actually.

It's been my experience there are too many women into those type things. If she asks about your weekend, tell her you enjoy watching the paint dry after repainting your yard fence. If she asks about your favorite music, you don;t listen to other peoples music. Instead you prefer to play the kazoo freestyle. School? Doug's Monastery of Insurance and Celibacy.
