So I think one of my primary passwords I use online has been compromised in a "data breach," and it led to somebody hacking my Twitter/X account, spamming it, and getting my account suspended. I don't really go on there at all, but the posts are still on there and I'd like to clean it up and apologize to anybody who is seeing it. I have sent about five appeals since it happened and it has been nearly two weeks, but they have yet to respond in any way.

    1) Does anybody know how else I can proceed in this situation or who I can reach to get this lifted? I just want to change my password and move on from it, but it won't let me log in at all.

    2) Both my Facebook and Spotify claim they have detected "unusual activity" on those accounts since then, with nothing on there to speak of whatsoever. Not sure what that is and I'm guessing I know the answer to this, but how important is it that you think I find every website/app that I own with this particular password and change it? Do you feel this activity is somehow linked/related?

My gear-grinder is these guys won't get back to me and my account is sitting there exposed.
Welp, this might be going a little further. I just a letter from the IRS stating that another person may have used my SSN in an employment-related identity theft incident.

Now I have to call like sixteen different numbers and many of their offices are already closed for the weekend, and those that I already called take several business days to process. Not only that, but this notice date is four days old and I just got it today.

What the hell happened to me, and how did I get hacked like this? This is really scary.

When people call the hamstring their thigh.

Happens way more than it should and it irritates the living hell out of me. My schooling made me this way.

Like, if you said the back of your thigh, that's not big deal. But actually calling your hammy your thigh? No.

Public freakouts/people acting rude to strangers for no reason.

Just went to a gas station where this middle aged guy started swearing at this younger woman for "blocking him" and "not being aware of her surroundings".

I saw the whole thing, all she did was reverse into the pump ahead of him (he was in the station going to pay) and he comes out and sees her reversing and starts yelling at her.

He went on for quite a while about it too. She got him on video so that'll definitely be on YouTube eventually.

One of the reasons why I hate people at times. It's a gas station, all she did was pull into a spot to fill her car with gas and that guy gets mad because there's a car infront of him (he did have a bigger van so reversing out would be hard if even possible, but that's not her fault). If that guy got any more aggressive/verbal, there'd be more trouble caused for sure.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

People need to stop posting **** online.

Before all this sudden urge to post everyone's ****ty day for everyone to see, people had bad interactions and they'd just say "damn what an *******" and go on with their ****ing day. "Guess what happened today at the grocery store" "man, what a dick" and that's it. Now everything is national news.

Now it's just....made everyone an *******. And the more you indulge it, the more you reward it, the more everyone is encouraged and the worse everyone gets. The "point" was never to "create better behavior."

The internet was probably the worst thing to ever happen.

This is a good way to get the **** kicked out of you or shot. Better not try this with the wrong person.

That's why I said it's good that guy didn't get more aggressive than he was.

If that woman felt any sort of danger, just go in the gas station and tell the person there that there's a guy harassing you and you don't feel safe going back out even though your car is there. They'd have the guys face and license plate on video already (and if it matters, probably credit card info since he just paid minutes earlier).

If he does anything to your car, it's on video, get the police involved.

But that's part of my gear grinder. Why can't people just leave others alone? If you're angry or having a bad day, why start going after innocent bystanders? And that guy is "lucky" all that woman did was pull out her phone (though she was lucky all he did was yell while on camera). It's like when I'm driving, if someone wants to cut me off or change lanes to swerve around the car and speed up, go ahead, I don't care, I'm not confronting you or honking at you about it because who knows what kind of person you're dealing with.

Gotta pick your battles. Telling an ******* that they are an ******* hardly ever makes a difference, because they have no self awareness in the first place. And with the way things are now, the chances of it escalating beyond a mutual “F you” are higher then back in the day. Not worth it.

yeah I had an incident where I got honked at after trying to be cautious, it was weird. I was getting ready to get into the left turn lane and I saw this person fly up behind me in a way that I'm familiar with, they're gonna do the zoom into the left turn lane ahead of me thing. So I turn my blinker on early so they understand I'm bout to use that lane so maybe don't do that stupid thing. I merge over, they try to zoom around me anyway and honk at me like I'm the *******. Cmon man, I tried to help you out so you'd know NOT to do that because I saw it coming, don't act like I'm the dick.

When someone pulls up to a neighbor's house and instead of texting them, calling them or just going to the door, they sit there and honk for them to come out.

Sigh, oh Ellen Buda. Yes woman, I'm calling you out.

That may have been pre-cell phone days though. Even still, get out the damn car.

In the mid-80s, I had a neighbor who would honk his horn every day when he arrived home from work until his wife opened the garage for him to pull in. 🫠

I love that the Rinvoq commercial says "Do not take if allergic to Rinvoq." They might all say that, but that's the one that I have heard on occasion.
