          Gotta love stupid people.

I had an ad up for something I'm selling. The ad shows my approximate location and I even specified in the ad "pickup from (my neighbourhood) only".

Someone messages me asking about the item and said they want to pick it up now, I tell them where to pick it up from, then they back out.

Ok..why respond to begin with when the ad specifically mentioned where you'd have to pick up from? If you wanted to pick it up now, clearly you should have looked to see if its even close to where you are.

I hate throwing away (or donating) stuff I know I can get decent money back for, but dealing with having to sell to people who are so flakey is even more annoying.

Latest driving gear grinder (not a new one, just one I decided to post).

Motorcycles driving on the white line so that they don't have to wait in traffic, or just an easy way to get ahead of cars.

Obviously against the law, and I'm surprised more people don't get caught doing that (especially as a motorcyclist, you can't see which cars are up ahead while you do that so you can't see if a police car is part of that line of cars you're soon to pass), but what makes people think that's even a good idea?

Congrats, you're driving between two lanes to get ahead of a bunch of cars. You risked your entire life over shaving off a few minutes at best. All it takes is a car up ahead changing lanes and obviously not even seeing you or thinking to look for someone doing what you're doing and you're colliding with them. And you can't swerve left or right because there's cars beside you.

Why do modern TV shows (and now two movies) insist on having their Korean characters with the last name of Park, specifically the ones who would go by that last name on the show?

              House, M.D.: Dr. Chi Park
              The Blacklist: Agt. Alina Park
The Good Doctor: Dr. Alex Park
The Last of Us: Sgt. Elise Park

              The Naked Gun: Detective Park
She Rides Shotgun: Det. John Park

I'm sure there are more, but are they afraid we won't be able to say a Korean last name, or afraid they're not Americanizing it enough if they have one like Choi or Yoon?

Obviously "first world problems", but going on vacation so I had my ps5 put in rest mode so I could use remote play on it while I'm not around.

Just my luck, there were mini power outages the very first day I left so of course that means it shuts down and I can't use it now since it's no longer in rest mode. There goes all that planning, and a week where I would've occasionally used it.

I had forgotten but this reminded me, I cant pronounce Nguyen, and I suppose that does grind my gears a bit.

Isn't it just new-yen? I think I've only met one guy years ago with that last name and that was fine with him. Though now that I'm thinking about it, maybe he was Americanizing it for me just to be nice instead of correcting me.

It might be New yen, but I still try to pronounce the G for some reason.

Yeah I did that when I was younger.

I have a weird last name and I'm used to people mispronouncing it, so when I see a name I'm not sure of I first try to sound it out as it's spelled because I know most times that ends up being wrong. Then once I have that ruled out I can usually get close to what the actual pronunciation is.

After looking at some pronunciation videos on YouTube, you guys are right. Or at least closer to right than I was. It seems like there are a couple ways to actually say it (though that might just be regional differences of the same sound) but a million different ways people think it's said.

I know that pretty much everyone here has already cut the cable cord, but I still have it.

Here is TNT's weird movie lineup for today after Captain Marvel, in order:

                                - Ocean's Thirteen
                                - Ocean's Twelve
                                - Ocean's Eleven
                                - The Hangover Part II
                                - The Hangover Part III

They want people to watch their programming, right?

FX is showing some Marvel movies today as well, and outside of missing the first two Thor films at least they are in the correct phase ballpark and they are going in release order per IP:

                                - Doctor Strange
                                - Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
                                - Thor: Ragnarok
                                - Thor: Love and Thunder
                                - Black Panther
                                - Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

TNT is just a little off their rockers today.
