I hear you guys... I've had brothers & friends who went down that path and are constantly in and out of rehab or died of OD at a young age.

It's tragic and foolish, all in one. It's hard to forgive all the junkie behavior when that stuff gets the best of them. Puts all of us people who turn away from that stuff in a bad spot. It sucks when someone says, "Sorry for your loss," and I have to say well, we saw it coming to justify that it wasn't 100% a tragic death but a self inflicted early demise.

Moving. Really contemplating forgetting the security deposit and not cleaning....just vacuum and mop.

Is your place really that messy ? It shouldn't be too much work to clean, especially if it's worth $500+

I cleaned and patched walls. I had my landlord take the fee out for shampooing the carpet, but I got the rest of my deposit back. I can see a lot of people not doing that, though.

The thing is....I'm moving across Oregon and have to be to my new job on Monday 350 miles away.
The place isn't that bad....But I'm not cleaning the oven or scrubbing the shower.

Hmm it's been almost a year since I moved out my apartment and I definitely didn't clean my oven. Now u have me thinking how atrocious that thing probably was.

We got our deposit back even though we didn't shampoo the carpets or clean the oven. Probably because the rest of the apartment was clean. They're probably used to having to clean the most vile bathrooms and stuff, just happy to see it wasn't infested with the plague. Then again, we stayed in the same complex just a different building so they're still getting our "business."

Just read your lease and see what's in it. Mine specifically said the carpets had to be steam-cleaned ($60 - didn't bother me) before moving. Any repairs/extra cleaning would come out of the deposit.

When you gave your landlord notice did you tell them where to send the security deposit to and that you expected to receive the full amount back?

I did. We were in there for 3 years and they hadn't replaced the carpets....so the carpet has to be replaced. Not too worried about it. The deposit was 250....I took pictures before we left. My girlfriend will do the final walk through at the end of the month since she's coming back for her mom's birthday.

Firefox changed their design and now things are in different places on the menu and toolbar than before! Don't get why they even had to change it, there was nothing wrong with how it looked before.


1 gear grinder I've been meaning to post for weeks/months......When people start telling you abunch of things and/or wanting you to do abunch of things literally less than 5 minutes after you even got out of bed. Didn't even get breakfast yet. The worst time to ever "bother" me is right after I wake up and haven't had breakfast yet.

I always liked having the tabs underneath the bookmark toolbar, now it's above the address bar. Not a huge difference,but enough of one for me to notice considering I've been used to things the other way for several years.
