I suppose this is cultural more than anything, but I have never noticed a superior level of service in the US vs abroad (and in fact, it may be worse on average).

But yeah, this is the system we all live in, so the servers shouldn't get screwed because I disagree with the system.
I always tip well unless the service is bad, but the system makes no sense.

    I order a $10 cheeseburger and a water - 1 plate, 1 glass.

    I order a $45 steak and a drink - 1 plate, 1 glass.

Why does the second server get significantly more money for the same work?

Maybe the 45$ plate was served by a hot blonde and the 10$ plate was served by mama Jo

One should not be subjected to the hippopotamus Christmas song a full 4 days after Christmas. Its just not kosher.

My ex-mother-in-law sang that dang song year-round. One of the many, many reasons I got the hell out.

Okay, it had more to do with infidelity on my part, but while I'd go back and do a few things different, I don't miss that song for a minute. It all eventually led to the happiest days of my life.

                Damn that song.

Movies can't seem to get news broadcasts to look right. They always look fake and corny as hell.

Since they cannot, I wonder why they don't just hire a news team to do that for them. Seems simple and affordable enough.

                    Here we go again.

So, couple months ago my property manager got fired, presumably for the influx of crackheads permeating the building.

The lead handyman from maintenance randomly told me they're trying to get this place cleaned up, the landlord even emailed me out of the blue about firing the guy. Good stuff!

One of the bigger problem neighbors is the lady right next to me, she's the reason their was a mini raid on the building, which ended up being just her apartment because of one of her "associates".

Today, I notice this same lady get dropped off in the parking lot, and some stinkin' drunk guy comes stumbling out of the backseat. It's 2pm and this guy is so drunk he can barely stand up, tripping over himself and leaning on cars in the parking lot for balance.

New property manager shows up and I'm like "haha good timing". Welp... she proceeds to go into the building with stumbling drunk man, with paperwork, they view an open apartment, come back outside with completed paperwork, and handshakes.

                    Awesome.

Welcome to the building Stumbling Man, you'll fit right in.

                      I don't see the problem here. I'm sometimes silly-drunk at 9am.

Granted, I work mids. I also drink to sleep from time to time. Ha.

Yep, people seem to want to do the right thing, until money enters the picture. Then its business, as usual. Before I finally became financially secure, I lived in some pretty rough neighborhoods and had my share of scumlords. Finally moved to the country 21 years ago this April and haven't looked back.

Is it possible to eventually move or no? That sounds terrible.

Reminds me like 15 years ago when I was in a ok apartment and this Polish girl moved in next door. She seemed nice and we'd wave hi or whatever. One night she had a party and some huge guy who looked kinda like Sebastian Janikowski (think very tall big bald Polish guy) was pushing some other guy and she was between them. I hear a bottle break and she's begging them not to fight. Eventually it all got calmed down, but was crazy to listen to and watch through my peephole (this was all in the stairwell outside my door lol). I couldn't understand everything cause they would mix English and Polish.

I don't even live in a bad area, hell it's actually a nice area, it's basically just a weird little hole in the wall of complete lawlessness surrounded by totally normal businesses. My problem is I'm stubborn and want to tough this out like I'll earn some adult merit badge or something, plus I need a lot of help trying to move and it would be just to another low income spot anyway so I try to grin and bear it the best I can (while complaining on OS haha)
