Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

    TLDR content:

I went to my niece's birthday party yesterday and we took our two sons. The kids were playing and stuff and then this little redhead boy comes in the living room (he's probably 7) and he says, "Who's kid is this little boy in the blue shirt that's annoying me? He won't stop talking to me."

I know both of my kids (5 and 2yo) are wearing blue shirts and the oldest does sometimes have some personal space issues so I'm like.. "It's probably mine." I can't help, but wonder why is this little kid asking adults "who's kid is this?" FOH little man. So I ask what he's doing and he says "He's just talking to me and it's getting on my nerves." I go in the bedroom and there are three kids all laying down on their switch playing Fortnite so I ask my son what happened and he said, "They are all playing Fortnite and I just wanted to play outside on the trampoline, but I tried to watch them play and they won't let me."

I could tell right away that he's actually being truthful because his feeling were hurt and he started sobbing. So I had to have a long talk with him about how he won't like everyone in life and everyone won't like him, don't worry about them. I capped it off with "You don't need to cry about it little man.. some kids don't know how to play like kids anymore with toys or their imagination and only care about video games."

The dad of that kid and the mom were giving me funny looks, but what the ****.. get off your *** and either help or tell your kid to stop being a rude little ****. I was also hoping my sister would tell her son to get off the damn game and socialize with his family, but she didn't do that either.

It's not my house and I don't want to be old 29 year old man yells at cloud, but my kids really would rather play with toys than be on video games when the weather is nice. They own a Wii, 3DS, PS3, ipads, etc. but we limit their time with them, but every single time I see my nephew he's on a phone, tablet, or switch.

The whole thing was a big gear grinder for me.

I'm sorry man, but damn it I was laughing mighty hard. That little kid hit you with the:

Damn. That is messed up. But I noticed that is how it is now. I got into an argument a couple of weeks ago with one of my friends over the whole momo thing. I told her well why do you let your 2 and 5 year just watch Youtube like that anyway. She got offended as though I called her a bad mom for buying a 2 and 5 yr old ipads. To me it is like what ever happened to turning on the tv and letting your kid watch the disney channel or some other kid oriented show on tv. I know this person have cable, hulu, prime video and netflix. Parents now just throwing machines in front of their kids just for they won't have to be bothered with them for hours.

The Momo Challenge. Ha. Next time they won't use some creepy, obviously bad guy to trick kids.

It'll be a cute cartoon character.

And they use'll it to get to the parents' money.

        Oh wait...

Damn straight Chase. You did the right thing and are right to feel the way you do. My boy is getting to the age where he’ll want to play video games and he has his favorite TV shows, but nothing beats that imaginative, outside play. Got a whole life to look at screens, these beautiful days don’t come around so often.

Kids know a lot more then adults give them credit for. They may not understand fully, but when you give them that tablet for hours on end you’re losing time with your child that you will never get back. Even just sitting and watching with them makes a difference. It just makes me sad. Then they’ll wonder where their little boy or girl went years later. You gave their time away.

People that do not clean the snow off the top of their vehicles. If you have ever had a wall of snow land on your windshield leaving you driving blind from one of these a holes you will understand.

Those people are the worst. It's the ultimate in laziness and not caring (probably not even thinking) about anyone else. Maybe they're just dense and haven't really thought it would affect others? That would be the best-case scenario...

But yeah, either the chunks of snow hammering your windshield or the constant flurries in your face the entire time you're driving behind them (making it basically limited-visibility conditions for you), it sucks big time.

Not sure about by you, but here it's illegal to drive like that. Don't know how much it can be enforced because I'm sure within minutes of driving it'll all fall off. Maybe dashcam footage can be used to report it?

Don't get how people cant clean top of car. Brushes which extend AND have ice scraper are literally only several dollars on sale. It's a one time purchase you'll be using at least a few months a year.

If it's too much for you to stretch to even reach top of your car, is operating a car a safe thing?

I see snow on top of vehicles and their entire back window covered in snow quite often out here. People are just lazy. Far too often I see people just hop in their vehicle, turn on their wipers and drive off.

It’s very much illegal and isn’t a matter of not being able to. It’s strictly laziness and a lack of concern for others.

It's pretty much illegal everywhere. Doesn't stop people everywhere from doing it, though...

It seems there are less and less people with any morals and a good conscience. What happened to people that want to do the right thing the right way versus scamming, cheating, lying and defrauding others to get what they want? What happened to people that want to help others to truly be a blessing without a selfish ulterior motive? What happened to people that are nice and show respect for others regardless of gender, race or color?

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.
