Because I hate when I'm that car, I give plenty of advance notice, and I feel like the car behind me just says "I'm going to continue at 50 MPH so good luck whipping around your corner!" and I'm screeching my tires in like a madman into my neighborhood because they can't help but stay on the gas pedal.

I always wonder what a driver behind me is thinking in various situations.

I'll signal before turning anywhere, but I'll give notice too. And despite the notice, I can tell the car behind me is driving as if my car will just vanish the second I come to the street I'm turning on.

Or if I'm pulling into the driveway. I've given up trying to reverse into the driveway if a cars behind me because they dont care to give you time or space to go past the driveway and reverse in. Although sometimes I'll pull aside and let them just drive off and then get to the driveway and reverse in...except that sometimes the car behind me will start driving slowly when I pull aside, as if they were gonna pull aside in that same spot or something.

You know what really grinds my gears?

I'm someone who backs into his parking spots, but heaven forbid I can't get into a spot with cars who stay right up my rear end.

Say I'm in a parking lot and I'm waiting for that one spot to be empty as a car backs out. I have my blinker on, am obviously idle and waiting, and proceed forward as the car leaves. So what do I do? I pass the spot, but Numbnuts behind me has no sense of mind to understand that I might actually be backing into this spot, so he sniffs my backside and prohibits any opportunity for me to freaking back in like he's going to take it, then he gets mad when he sees my reverse lights on.

Now what I do is I zoom past the spot, slam on the brakes, and shift to reverse as fast as humanly possible so the car has zero chance at reacting before my white lights are already showing.

Watch when somebody's gear grinder immediately after me will be about people like me who back into their spots.

Anyway, I do what you have to do now: pull to the side and wait for them to pass by.

It annoys me to utterly no end how people just find the most recent email you've sent them and hi-jack it, sending an email about something completely different and unrelated to the subject line or the email thread.

I honestly act completely dumb, replying that I'm confused how the email relates to x-subject.

THEM: "Hey I sent you an email, did you get it?"

ME: "When did you send it?"

THEM: "About a minute or two ago. Need to see if you read it and what you think."


Drives me freakin insane! Does it occur to anyone that I am busy doing other things that doesn't involve them? And if you want to know when I read it, attach a damn read receipt to your email.

And 98% of the time, its nothing so important that it requires an immediate response. And I tell everyone, if you want an answer from me immediately, there is this thing called the telephone!

I worked with a guy years ago...a marketing director (i.e. no one important).

He'd send an e-mail....30 seconds later...phone call (he was a few states away). Every....friggin....time. I stopped answering, he'd leave a voicemail (saying, "I sent you an e-mail"). And it was never one of those "I sent you this e-mail, but it's complicated and I needed to elaborate more on it and felt talking would be easier."

It also didn't help that he CONSTANTLY referred to me by my last name....

Anyway, I sometimes have the opposite effect happen to me. My laptop is in front of me a lot while multitasking with something else at home, and since it chimes when I receive a school e-mail I'm often quick to reply. So if a student messages me within a question, they may get a response within a minute or so.

It's happened quite often when I have a student on a block day at school, they send me an e-mail that night, I send one back immediately, and two days later when I see them again they'll ask: "Mr. Robinson, did you get my e-mail I sent a couple days ago?" in which case I ask: "Yes... did you get mine that I sent right after??" They always follow up with: "... Oh."

I use last names a lot...usually because it's an easier way to distinguish folks with the same first name?

I have an inverted scenario to CB; I have two coworkers that don't appropriately respond to an email because they have 10,000 in their inbox. Not exaggerating, they have no organizational structure to channel emails to folders, spam, mark as read, or delete.

I know there are days when the emails pile up, but eventually you have to deal with it. BTW, I am not OCD or anything, just need organization to be efficient.

Model number on appliances/electronics. Why can't they add it to the front? It would make it so much easier to look for help/manual online if you can just look at the appliance or piece of electronics and right away know the model#. I don't really remember the exact model for all the things in my house, shouldn't need to start looking at the back or moving stuff around.
