It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

My mom had been working from home full-time but the law firm she works for made them start coming in 2 or 3 days alternating weeks back in February then a couple weeks ago started making them come in 4 days a week every week. My job is full-time remote though.
If that's the primary reason for a lot of companies, they need to realize it's a perfect example of the sunk cost fallacy. It's like a sports team continuing to start a player making big time guaranteed money after he's lost his skills when his backup would be better.

I'll definitely be looking to change jobs to one with greater flexibility, as I'm sure will many others at companies with unreasonably unflexible policies.

Edit: Our department managers are looking to give us more flexibility to continue WFH much of the time. I really hope all positions in all industries that are able to WFH are afforded this flexibility, because flexible work arrangement are no longer the future, they're the present.

Likely getting caught going through a red light (obviously by accident).

Now the wait. It takes 1 to 2 months for them to mail the ticket, but I'm not 100% sure the camera picked up me going through the light as it was a bit of a grey area in terms of whether to have continued driving or stopping (since it happened during the switchover from the advance left turn Green light to red to the full green light for the entire intersection).

Apparently the camera flashes when it takes a picture, but I didnt see any flash, so who knows.

It's a fairly big fine too, so not looking forward to getting that in the mail in the summer, should I even be getting one.

When in a movie/series they fake the screen of a TV or cellphone. Like someone receives a call and it just so happens that that person's cellphone screen is one with font size of 35 which just so happens to let the viewer to unmistakably know who's calling. Or a newscast broadcast that is clearly super imposed on a ipad.

Yeah, I know it might be hard to recreate on an actual device what you need to, but work a little, have some pride in your work. And if it is impossible to recreate, then don't do it.

I know what you mean. It always looks fake regardless.

Also any time there is an ACCESS DENIED or ACCESS GRANTED, especially with a voiceover. After I started programming, I discovered how cringe all of this felt.

And any sort of headquarters with computer techs are always in super dark rooms with blue lighting, heh.

Why is there a magnetic strip on credit cards with chip readers when if you try to swipe it it always forces you to use the chip instead?

My last debit card's chip stopped working (I think it got worn by my wallet a little bit), and this became a bit of a problem for me. Instead of giving me a card read error, it would attempt to process and fail at the end, cancelling my transaction.

So I learned a trick, though it took a while. I would insert my card backwards where there isn't a chip so it would finally have a chip read error. After doing it three times, it would finally prompt me to swipe.

Irony of saying this on a site called Operation Sports but....

                        Sports.

The cause of and distraction for all my lifes problems.

Between Rodgers wanting out of GB, Lowry era in Toronto possibly over, Alomars fall from legend status, and Leafs being Leafs, I think 2021 is my worst sports fan year in history.

                          More specifically, strangers children.

If I'm related to them, they're alright.

Although lately I've developed a soft spot for those special bonds between parent/young child or aunt/uncle and neice/nephew.

Probably because of relatability, and seeing those moments on TV/movies hits home.

Or back when they had to use CD-roms or floppy disks. In the movie Enemy of The State I think they had CIA secrets on a Gameboy cartridge.

Ah, and the green rangefinder/gridlines really add to the aesthetic.

When I was little we had a Tandy without a GUI desktop so you had to enter commands in DOS to do anything. My dad helped me memorize the commands to get into XTree and open this golf and Jeopardy game we had. 6 year-olds entering line commands, lol.
