Plus i'm assuming from an economic sense it probably doesn't cost them that much to make the pizza so giving an occasional good deal to a limited # of people still earns them $$ if not more. Cause I know at one point when I went to the Marlins-Rays game I was rooting for the Marlins to get their 10th strikeout so I could go pick up a pizza, which I had no intention of doing before the game.

Re: GUYS, What is your Perspective on Tipping
I usually tip around 25-30%. After dating a few waitresses, I've just been trained that way.
Usually just a couple bucks on pizza delivery though. I feel like paying the delivery charge and tipping is paying for the same thing twice. Not the drivers fault so I toss him a few bucks.
I will say this though, server entitlement has gotten a little out of hand. The servers I know are now scoffing at a 15% tip. That's a pretty solid tip and it used to be what you gave for outstanding service.NFL - Vikings

Re: GUYS, What is your Perspective on Tipping
If the service outstanding, I have no problem giving a generous tip. I've tipped waitresses $10-12 before. If it is very sub-par, they shouldn't expect more than $3-4.Comment

Re: GUYS, What is your Perspective on Tipping
When I'm out to eat I tip 20% unless the service is awful, then I leave a few bucks. That has only happened twice ever.
I normally give the pizza guy $3 or $5 depending on how much I ordered.GT: Herkyalert

Well, I'm a waiter in Las Vegas, so I'm all about the tips. Parents were a dealer and barback/bartender (tip positions). Its said its "not how it was" but seeing as our biggest industry is casinos/service industry there's a "culture of tipping". One thing that catches people off guard for example is I tip when I cash my check.
Its all an idea that it goes out and comes back to you. If me and my girlfriend go eat we generally tip well. For example we go to the rinky dink dennys style cafe that's in every casino we spend 20$ and tip 10$. I'm not big on fancier places, but we go this sushi place typically spend 80-100 depending on drinks, always leave about 20$.
You can definitely tell who is a bartender/waiter as well as they typically tip very well. It really does go around. If I go out three times a week, that doesn't compare to the 3-5 industry folks I get per shift. It more than evens out.
It is just different out here I suppose. No one in a casino is making minimum wage (so no struggling single mothers as the stereotype goes), for example I make 12$ an hour + tips, which come out to anywhere between 140-240 depending on the day/shift. The place I work isn't a fancy place or anything (20ish a plate) though its a very well regarded (4.5+ out of 5 on yelp) "secret spot" so we have a regular base of people. People in very high end places make 6 figures, though its a completely different type of job. Point being its a completely different environment growing up out here in regards to tipping I suppose.
I can understand the no tipping viewpoint, though I would say my biggest disagreement is that waiters are generally paid below what they should be making with the idea they'll be tipped. If they were paid proper wages, your food would cost more.Comment

Re: GUYS, What is your Perspective on Tipping
I've always hated the idea of tipping in sportsbetting. Everyone keeps saying you should give the person at the window something. My response? They didn't help me make my picks, they didn't decide any of my picks, why should they get a cut of my picks? They sure aren't going to give me any money after I lose. I don't tip the McDonald's cashier for pushing a few buttons and handing me my meal, why do I tip someone pushing some buttons on a computer and handing me a ticket? Tipping dealers and what not? Sure! (when I win at least, if I play to lose it all, especially if it was a small amount, sorry) They are usually talkative, friendly, sometimes give tips, and in general tolerate you for an hour or two, maybe more.Comment

Re: GUYS, What is your Perspective on Tipping
I guess the biggest thing that has given me such a negative perspective on tipping is when I went on a Disney Cruise with my family and friends. When it was over they gave out these forms to fill out on how much "tip" you going to give all the servers, room cleaners, and everyone else on the ship. What made it worse was they gave formulas to "help" you determine how much you "should" be paying them over a weeks time. It totally ruined the whole experience after they threw that at me when it was all over.Comment

Well it is usually customary to tip your waitress. Never been on a cruise but pretty sure you pay for the meal in advance and don't usually tip at the dinners. At most nice hotels, it isn't uncommon to tip the maid, etc... Sounds completely reasonable to me. Also pretty sure nothing on there said it was mandatory to tip.

Re: GUYS, What is your Perspective on Tipping
I'm a BIG tipper. If the service is good, they'll get no less than 25% from me. When we take our 4 young kids out, that increases. I appreciate what those folks do. Politeness, being talkative (appropriately), being aware of our needs but not overburdening us - goes a LONG way with me. Also, if it's somewhere that I plan to return (frequently) I like being remembered by that person as the quality of service is always good. I'm very frugal/cheap in some areas of my life - but tipping is NOT one of them...STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS
