The article I read said it was another employee, but neither of them were fired.

I completely forgot about this "story" when I saw the linked article about Sasha Cohen's Instagram. Yessir.

I agree. It was pretty generous of him. But I also feel that if you're a wealthy superstar, and you were planning on tipping, he should of definitely tipped more.

It's either tip correctly, or don't tip at all.

If he didn't tip, then he could of use the excuse that it was take out.

However, since he did tip, and he tipped very poorly (takeout or not) it made him look like he's a cheap rich athlete. So of course the media will jump on it because well they're the media.

Nope. You shouldn't tip based on income. I don't like that precedent.

This thing is a non-story. Its a take-out order and is essentially the same as going to any fast food place. Any tip I would consider generous.

I understand that concept. However, being a multimillionaire and giving someone $3, just makes you look cheap. So of course the media will pick on him.

If I had all that money, I would tip more, even on takeout. That said, I don't think any less of Brees. He left something, which is more then most people do on takeout. I never expect a tip when cashing someone out.

It is kind of weird he decided on 3 bucks though. Not $5? Not a percent?

                I agree with Slick.

The owner of the restaurant even agreed and donated money to his charity as a sign of good faith.

I am a very generous tipper, in fact, I have been told I over-tip by my friends and it makes them feel "awkward." I should stick with a good percent instead of just throwing money at it as I see fit, but I used to work in food and beverage and I remember the joy of getting surprised with a nice fat tip unexpectedly. If I had Brees' money I would probably have left a pretty cool tip, but, I am about as far from a Hall of Fame athlete as you can get, so it don't matter.

It's carry out, I mean, what did they guy think Brees was gonna do, throw down a 1,000 dollar tip and drop off a box of signed autographs? Brees always has seemed like a really cool dude.

The funny thing is, that receipt has Drew Brees' autograph on it and considering the current internet "fame" of said receipt, the server could easily sell it on eBay for a lot more than three bucks.

I get take out so I don't have to tip someone. Cant believe people are even talking about it.

But Seriously Baseball, that's how far your sport has Fallen. Instead of talking about how great the Pirates are, I get a discussion of a $3 tip. F'in Ridiculous.

Especially since most people aren't going to know your income. It just so happens Brees' is public.

I'm a fairly generous tipper given how cheap my university pays me (I also don't eat out a ton these days), but when I get a job that pays, say twice as much, I shouldn't suddenly have to tip more.

It's ridiculous that this is a story. Some guygirl just looking for attention, unless he/she has proof that they receive 15-20% tips on every take out order.

They have a spot to tip for that or do some people just slip them cash? They are making commission off of that already.

I get takeout from a place near me all the time. The only time I've ever left a tip is at Christmas. Now, on the rare times that I have it delivered, I tip 20 percent.

I only tip if they give me extra food, like a bunch of bread, sides, sauces, etc. Then it would only be $1-3 as they really didn't do much.
