Getting into the heat of summer (pun intended).

Thunderstorm expected today (warnings in place, but from forecast it looks like it'll miss me for most part). It'll cool things down for now.

Once it heats up in a few days, its gonna feel around 40C(over 100F)! Next week projected to be brutal.

I know I'm jinxing it, but I cant remember last time being in a long thunderstorm. Over past few years I'd hear thunder from a distance and maybe the occasional flash of lightning, but definitely feels like way less of these and less severe than I remember over a decade ago.


Lol, literally minutes after posting this I hear thunder outside for first time today...and then nothing happened. Maybe a warning shot lol.

the construction crew just rebuilt the sewage drain in my parking lot and I'm oddly interested in seeing how it handles the next storm lol, it doesn't really seem like they updated anything, so it'll probly flood the same way the last one did, but who knows

Temps still haven't been too bad but the last couple days have been humid as hell, it just smacks you in the face right when you open the door.

Weekend might be interesting - if it hits 100 I guess it'll be the first time since 2012. Heat index supposed to be 105+, so that'll be fun.

Low 90s, feels like it’s in low 100s.

In other words, it’s quite warm out there.

Friday and Saturday will be hot. Not just Canada hot, but actual hot.

Will be feeling like 44C/111F!

Om the plus side, there's a new frozen drink I've wanted to try(jolly rancher slushie). Friday or Saturday would be a great time to go get it.

Portland Maine , been really humid , heavy wet air the past few days. Today we are getting some relief with lower dew points and cooler air from our friends in Canada.

The older I get the more I can do without the hot humid weather. Spring , Fall and winter are decent , summer not so much.

I was wondering because that's the one that seems to give the zaniest real feel predictions lol, mine is saying 110 for here too but I don't usually rely on that one, although we do have an "excessive heat warning" so maybe it's not so zany

They're the only dedicated weather channel I see on tv. All others are regular news channels with the weather as well.

I feel no matter the source, weather isnt predictable in the way they say.

They can say 60% chance of rain tomorrow, and it doesn't rain a drop. Maybe someone somewhere is getting it, but not near me which is what they say. Even their future forecast maps, it says it'll rain in my area specifically around a certain time, and it never happens. So hours out still can't perfect the predictions.

I'm a weather dork and agree, the computer patterns are constantly changing. Here we have 5pm news, 6pm, and 11pm, and each forecast model shows something completely different. One shows clear the next day at 2pm, the next episode shows thunderstorms at 2pm, and then night forecast says light rain... maybe

They have certain days when they know for a fact it's gonna rain, or it's gonna be clear, but on days when stuff "might" happen, their guess is as good as ours and all they can do is tell us stuff might happen so keep an eye on the news!

Straight line winds, not a tornado as far as I know. It could have pretty easily fallen the other way - and onto the house.

Glad it fell the that way. At least you can clean it up yourself if you choose too. I like the shade from the trees, but hated that risk. I had a bunch of tall pine trees, easily +50' in my old yard. Thankfully only 1 branch ever fell and clipped my roof.
