Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
All good stuff. With Leinie's I stay away from their fruity beers. New Glarus Cherry is AWESOME! A pound a cherries per bottle.
Mostly stick to Blue Moon(no orange) in the summer and New Castle in the fall and winter. When rookie Randall Cobb was told by this U.S. Marine that he was a big fan of the wide receiver, Cobb said, “I think I’m a bigger fan of yours.”Comment

Just tried the Leinenkugel Berry Weiss. Very Tastey. Normally I stick with the Blue Moon, but this berry was pretty resfreshing.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

I need to try and mix some with Honey Weiss one of these days. Berry Weiss is good, but I'm starting to find it a little too sweet.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Brewers | Bradley Braves | Wisconsin Badgers

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
I use to like the Berry Weiss, but it ended up getting a little too sweet for me. I can usually only have 1 in a sitting but still not bad.
Had some of this stuff last week:

Yeah, I was playing ball out in the yard with the dog and then started grilling and the neighbor handed me one. It was refreshing. I would imagine that more than a couple would be too sweet.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
y'all tried this yet?
Just a GREAT refreshing beer here.
not as sweet as it sounds fo sho...maybe a hint @ the end.

appearance - Poured a hazy golden color with a nice head that settled. lots of lace on the glass.
smell - All blackberrish, nice sweet smell here.
taste - Very nice beer for the hot day. Refreshing & on the Medium side.
mouth feel - Medium-light crisp and clean.
drinkability - Easy drinking beer, could drink a lot of these. Another S A classic!

Nice, I'll see if they have that at my corner store... they carry most of the main Sam seasonals, so they should. Looks like a good one.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
I had the Dogfish head Raison D'Etre last night. It was good for what it was, but I don't prefer the Belgium beers with the wine taste, I love good IPA's. My question is, do all the Dogfish beers have that grape/wine taste, or are the IPA's like normal hoppy IPA's?My football alliances: E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles AND Hokie Hokie Hokie HiComment

I recommend that you get older. Seriously. I couldn't stand Guinness either when I was your age but I absolutely love it now. It is the epitome of an acquired taste.

Guiness is like an inverted U curve. You hate it at first, b/c all you've had is bud light, blue moon, etc...then you start loving it as you have some heavier beers at bars once you're old enough. And finally you start hating it again because with more money, you start buying more expensive and heavier beers and realize that guiness is not very good compared to nice stouts, it's just better than the rest of the macro-beers.My football alliances: E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles AND Hokie Hokie Hokie HiComment

Digging up one of my early posts in this thread, I see.
Yeah, I've moved on from that experience and have found quite a few enjoyable beers (even some dark ones). Haven't returned to the Guinness quite yet, though.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Brewers | Bradley Braves | Wisconsin Badgers

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
You could replace "Guiness" in your awesome analysis with "craft beer". A lot of craft beer is shocking to the noob drinker (definately was for me). Once you get the taste for anything besides an american light lager, you will not go back and like you said just keep up climbing up the quality mountain. It's a great journey with no real end in sight.Guiness is like an inverted U curve. Even Budweiser has realized this and now produces Bud Ale, which is a pretty solid brew IMO. Obviously they're way late to the game, but at least they realize good beer with flavor is not some fad that's going away if they throw enough marketing dollars at it. The hyping of Budweiser in commercials that portrayed it as some superior beer to some "dark ale where you can hide impurities" were hilarious! Foot in mouth. The guys at Bud have all of the talent in the world and it would be cool to see them come out with more product lines, maybe even get adventurous.Comment

Their IPAs are "normal hoppy IPAs" and highly recommended! DFH makes some wild stuff that definately isn't for everybody. I've poured a few of their products out because I just didn't have the stomach to finish them.Comment
