Yeah, I had a six pack earlier this year. It's quite delicious. I'm not great at reviewing beers, but I liked it because it had a nice smooth taste to it.

The Cask Ales in the London Pubs were FANTASTIC! I went to Fullers, Sam Smiths and Youngs pubs and every Cask Ale I had was delicious.

It's that time of year again. I just picked up some famous Great Lakes Christmas Ale. It tastes just a little bit different every year (sometimes better, sometimes worse) so I'll be back with this years report later.

Had an Elysian Brewing Avatar Jasmine IPA last night... very good beer. The jasmine notes are really unique and went well with the citrusy/bitter hops taste of the beer itself. No amazing IPA nose, but it had a wonderful velvety head and was a pleasure to drink. I'd give it an 8/10.

Picked up a special Windmer Brothers Cherry Oak Dopplebock too... I'll report back on that one. Love it when small-batch/special beers are on sale, it was only $5.99 or something.

                        Bourbon County Stout
                        Brewmasters Notes:
Brewed in honor of the 1000th batch at our original Clybourn brewpub. A liquid as dark and dense as a black hole with thick foam the color of a bourbon barrel. The nose is an intense mix of charred oak, chocolate, vanilla, caramel and smoke. One sip has more flavor than your average case of beer. A great cigar beer.

                        Recipe Information:
                        Style: Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout
                        Alcohol by Volume: 13%

Cellaring Notes: Develops in the bottle for up to 5 years

                        Nut Brown Ale
                        Brewmasters Notes:
Brewed in the English tradition, our Nut Brown Ale combines the finest domestic and imported malts to produce a chestnut-hued ale of unusual complexity. Subtle notes of chocolate, honey and fine tobacco give this ale an enjoyable and satisfying “nutty” finish.

                        Recipe Information:
                        Style: English Style Brown Ale
                        Alcohol by Volume: 5.3%

                        Cheese Pairings: Morbier, Fontina

                        Harvest Ale
                        Brewmasters Notes:
Brewed in honor of the Harvest season this copper colored ESB is made with Cascade hops and the richest Midwestern malts. A fruity American hop aroma and a toasty malt character make Goose Island Harvest Ale an extra special beer worthy of your devotion.

Had some Stone Ruination IPA this weekend. FANTASTIC!!!

The nose on this IPA is just crazy good. You pop a bottle and before you even start pouring the aroma just is powerful.

Taste is extremely hoppy but still very balanced at the end. With 135 IBUs you kind of expect it to be very hoppy but it has a nice smooth quality also.

                            Top notch A+ IPA!!!!!!!

                              Yeah that Ruination is crazy.

I saw that Bourbn County at my store and wanted to try it out. Seeing that it's paired with flourless chocolate cake makes me want to pick it up more... I make those on the regular. I think it's time for a trip to the store for more special winter beers... love when the seasons change and all these new (or old and just seasonal) beers come out.
