Surly (Mpls, MN) has come out with what they call Surly Wet, and it's one of the best beers I've ever had.

It's wet-hopped, which means it's brewed with hops picked a couple days before brewing, so the hops are never dry. It has all the great hops flavor with a smoother finish and less bitter bite. It's a little expensive, but worth every penny. If you can somehow find this, buy it! I'm going right to see if my place still has some and I might buy them out of it if they're almost out.

Picked up a 6 pack today. I've liked every other Leinenkugels I've tried so thought I would give this a try.

I hate you. I've wanted to try GL Christmas Ale for the longest time, but it's just not available around here.

Sam Adam's Winter Classics Variety pack is really good this year...
                Boston Lager (of course)
                Old Fezziwig Ale
                Holiday Porter
                Winter Lager
                Chocolate Bock
Black & Brew Coffee Stout (new this year)

Black & Brew is a 5.8% ABV coffee stout. It pours with a one finger head, and is a dark brown with reddish highlights. The coffee taste from the Sumatran beans dominates the taste, but there are hints of vanilla and a little caramel as well. I suspect this may be based on their cream stout; it has its thick, creamy richness and the understated hoppiness. I think this will be one of my go-to beers for the holidays

Oh lord yes. As it was, the Chocolate Bock they introduced last year was my favorite beer of the season, with Old Fezziwig right behind it. I can only imagine the coffee stout is greatness as well.

IMO, the winter pack is far and away the best out of the seasonals.

I bought a Winter pack when I JUST started "liking" beer and I hated most of it.

I imagine if I try it again, I might enjoy it a bit more.

It's amazing...sad that the last canning run was two days ago.

I'm heading out later to grab some Wet, and a bottle or two of Darkness. That brewery makes the best damn beer on the planet.

Sam Adams is definitely not the type of beer to begin your drinking experience with. lol

Those are definitley an acquired taste. Even to this day I'm not a big fan of Sam Adams.

I'd still rather drink a Dos Equis or a Shocktop and call it a day.

                                ***BREAKING NEWS*** BLACKOUT STOUT...IS OUT!!!
One of, if not THE BEST Russian Imperial Stouts on the Planet

Blackout stout smells like coffee, black malt, and a bit of hops. The taste is mostly a roasted coffee, a bit of chocolate, a little tiny bit of hop flavor, and a hint of smoke. Very nice combination. The smoke adds a nice touch to the aftertaste. Thick but silky mouthfeel, and hides the 9% alcohol very very well.
