Damn I screwed up the wording on the little Purple Haze blurb.

Mo, I'll drink another one and give a review as best I can. I'm not exactly a beer aficionado at this point so I can't promise it'll be all that great, but I'll give it a shot.

If I'm going Sam Adams, best for my money is the Cream Stout. It's a seasonal, and can be a pain to find, but I buy out BevMo when they have it and keep a stock for the year.

If anyone is from the Sacramento Area, Rubicon is the best brewery I've found around. Absolutely outstanding IPA.

And, it's been said before, but you pretty much can't go wrong with anything from Stone. Just hope you like hops...

OK, this isn't much of a review for Purple Haze, but basically it tastes like raspberry. There's really not much to it besides that. It's just... raspberry beer. There's not any depth to it. It's a decent beer but I'm not sure I'd recommend it unless you really like raspberry.

Yup Brandon, i had some this past weekend. It's an American wheat beer that pours a cloudy golden color, w/ a nice off white head, w/ some nice lacing.
it DOES taste a little raspberry...which isn't sweet & is smooth and very drinkable. really didn't notice much hops presence or bitterness. this beer would GREAT on hot summer day.

Someone mentioned Sam Adams...for me the Honey Porter is a damn good beer.If you like a Malty, coffee, toffee, caramel, w/ a nice balance of hops...w/ a honey finish...this beers for you.
The creamy Stout's damn good too, but it's a little TOO heavy for me.

Have you tried any of the other Abita beers besides this one and Turbodog? I want to try all of them.

Blue Moon has a new seasonal beer out...its called Rising Moon. Its their spring ale.

Its very good if you like Blue Moon. There's less blueberry flavor than a normal Blue Moon with a small hint of lime. Surprisingly heavy. It has the look of a slightly dark light ale but once you try it, you're like "damn, that's kind of thick". Highly recommend for Blue Moon lovers.

Blue Moon does seasonal brews very well. Their pumpkin spice ale which is out in late September through mid November is outstanding.

My beer of choice is always a Leinenkugel Sunset Wheat. Taste a bit like fruit loops, and would probably be in the same category as a Blue Moon, but damn is it good!

Blue Moon is near the top of my list.

A couple years ago, I was in summer school and my roommate and I decided to have beer tasting every day... we each bought a different six pack every day... Loved the experience of trying out all of those different beers.

I should get back to that.

You get blueberry flavor out of Blue Moon?
