I bought a six pack of Tecate after seeing Hellboy down them in Hellboy II (my wife and I just caught it on Blu-ray last weekend). Talk about piss water!

I truly can't stand Mexican beers.

Also if you smell skunk, the beer is likely bad and should be returned. Some Belgian beers and others have funky smells at times, but skuning in an Pilsner anything is bad news. That's one thing about craft beer that sucks; a lot of the breweries don't date their products and can sit on shelves for a long time. Especially the imported stuff.
Yeah, I do go to Bradley. I am originally from Wisconsin and live there when I am not at school but I am currently in Peoria for school.

My friend mentioned that he never noticed the smell when he's had that beer before so maybe that one was just a bad one.

I had a Blue Moon tonight and really enjoyed it. It's my favorite so far. I have a six pack of that to finish and I also bought six of the Leinenkugel's Berry Weiss. I liked the Honey Weiss so we'll see how this one goes.

Hey man, if ya dig fruity pebbles, try on the Leinenkugels Sunset Wheat...it's not sweet, it just reminds me of fruity pebbles...not a bad Summer beer actually.

The Fireside Nut Brown Ale ain't bad either.

My two word review: Very good.

Sorry, I'm not the best at describing what I taste, but it's definately a porter I would recommed anytime.

Sunset Wheat is definitely the next Leinie's I plan to try.

Something for the Leinie Lodge lovers (alliteration FTW!) that bergie56 mentioned a long ways back...pour half of a Honey Weiss into a glass and then top with half a Berry Weiss. Very refreshing on a hot summer day and quite tasty!

If I end up liking the Berry Weiss I want to give that a try.

Some good beer bars downtown include Kellehers, Rhodell (actually a brew pub that brews their own beer; next door to Kellehers), Eamon Patricks, Sully's, and Old Chicago. All probably within a mile of each other downtown. In terms of picking some up at the store, Friar Tuck and Super Liqours both have great selection.

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread

Well, I tried three new brews tonight (at the Old Chicago downtown, Fluffhead).

Sam Adams Cherry Wheat (bottle) - really enjoyed this one
Erdinger Weissbier (draught) - excellent, might be my new favorite, and it came in a fun glass
Founder's Breakfast Stout (draught) - actually a dark beer I enjoy, and I could really taste the coffee in it - also just looked it up online and found out it is 8.3% ABV, probably why I'm feeling a bit tipsy right now.

I have always drank Miller Lite, but when I buy a case of Miller Lite I always buy a 6 pack of Hook and Ladder. I have actually grown to like the taste and proceeds go to the fallen fire fighters funds and burn treatment centers.

I guess this thread is for me now. Before this month, I only drank liquor. However, a few of my buddies were members of the UFO Club at the Flying Saucer (bar located in some states in the South).

Goal: Drink 200 different beers (limited 3 per night) and once you do that, you get a free $100 tab used in one night. You also get a plate on the wall with your name/any quote you want. Cost to join is only $18, basically to cover the t-shirt you get.

I'm currently at 24 beers tasted (started on March 9th). I've been the last five nights.

                              So far:
                              Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
                              Abita Jockamo IPA
                              Sam Adams Brown Ale
                              RedHook Blackhook Porter

                              Sierra Nevada ESB
                              Samuel Smith Imperial Stout
                              Pyramid Apricot
                              Abita Amber
                              Becks Dark
                              Bohemia
                              Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA
                              Corona
                              Sam Adams Cherry Wheat
                              Monty Pythons Holy Grail
                              Abita Turbodog
                              Black Velvet
                              Yazoo Amarillo Pale Ale
                              Abita Purple Haze
                              Xingu Brazillian Black
                              Blue Velvet
                              Bass Ale
                              New Belgium Fat Tire
                              Yuengling Lager

Obviously, can't go wrong with Yuengling. I also really liked Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, Abita Turbodog, Abita Purple Haze, Monty Pythons Holy Grail, Pyramid Apricot as well as the fusions in Blue and Black Velvet.

One I haven't added to my list but have in my fridge is Blue Moon. Can't go wrong with that either.
