Blue Moon isn't really a fruit beer.

It is a Belgian White beer (or witbier for those keeping score at home), nothing fruity about it. Although you are supposed to pour it in a glass over an orange slice for maximum flavor.

If you want something with somewhat of a fruity flavor that is easy to drink (doesn't sound like you're ready for an IPA or an imperial stout yet) yet isn't too girly, then try a Leinenkugel Sunset Wheat. Not a bad brew at all and great for the summer. It goes best with a lemon slice, but is just fine on its own.

Exactly, good recommendation. Summer Shandy (also from Leinenkugel) is another possibility.

Had some Southern Pecan this past weekend. It was really good. A lot like Newcastle, but the sublte pecan is the difference. Definitely going into the rotation. They just started carrying it in 2 package stores in Tuscaloosa recently.

Had a couple Great Divide Hercules DIPA this weekend. ABV: 10.0%. Delicious IPA, very smooth, not overly hoppy.

Wow, this fell all the way to page 5... people not drinking this summer or what?

I have never been a hop head in the least (always prefered dark malty craft beers to hoppy ones), but I really liked Mighty Arrow Pale Ale from New Belgium. It's their Spring brew but I think it got a good enough response that they're thinking about making it a year-round addition.

I think liked it so much because it didn't have that really bitter finish that IPAs often have while still being complex and having a nice nose (citrus/grapefruity).. seems to taste slightly different every time you take a drink depending on the temperature of the beer and how you drink it (big gulp, sip).. very complex and cool beer. It's 6% so it's still good for a session (I've been drinking at least 2), but strong enough that you don't want to just polish off the whole 6-pack in a sitting.

Fat tire is awesome. Has anyone had Alaskan Ale in summer? Good stuff.

I Love me some Southern Pecan too. I have drank a good 3 or 4 sixers this season.

I am stopping at the store tonight and picking up something new.

I had some Satan Red the other day. I enjoyed it.

Sorry guys, I haven't had a chance to read through this entire thread but I consider myself fairly seasoned in the tasting of beers. Here's my Top 5:

                          The staple brew:

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (Chico, CA)

The "reminds me of home" brew:

Summit Pale Ale (Saint Paul, MN)

The great tasting higher ABV brew:

                          Goose Island IPA (Chicago, IL)

Great to drink during the MLB postseason brew:

                          Sam Adams Oktoberfest (Boston, MA)

                          The summer brew:

                          Bell's Two-Hearted Ale (Kalamazoo, MI)

And another list of assorted favorites:

                          1. Stone Brewery Arrogant Bastard Ale
                          2. Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale (Seasonal)
                          3. New Glarus Spotted Cow
                          4. Bell's Oberon
                          5. Peroni

                          For the inevitable American macros:

PBR (Milwaukee, WI, well sort of)
                          High Life (Milwaukee, WI)
Premium Grain Belt (New Ulm, MN)--not really a macro, and serves up nothing special but nostalgia)

Haven't had too many new brews lately (money's been a bit tight). Finally did get to Old Chicago the other day to start on their American Craft Brew mini-tour. I had some Honey Orange thing, can't remember the name. The beer was unfortunately equally unmemorable.
