forgot something, when a dog dies, they usually try and find a place to go hide. That is why your dog was under the dresser most likely. In a pack, injured, sick or dying ones remove themselves from the rest of the pack. So don't feel bad thinking your dog was looking for you.

Sorry to hear of your loss man. It sucks losing a loved one but you will see them again, no worries. Keep your chin up.

Sorry to hear that man. I lost my bird about 6-12 months ago and it was tough. He was always around and I spent a lot of time with him for the most part. I noticed a few nights before his death that he looked really bad and I felt terrible that I couldn't do a thing for him.

Also, this was true in my case with my bird. The night before he died, he went down to the bottom of his cage and hid behind his water container.

I cried for a little while after he passed, but thought about the good times with him(which obviously are much different than a dog). I couldn't imagine what it would be like to lose my dog. Just keep your head up and try to think of the good times.

Really? Didn't know that. I didn't hear any yelping or crying. Can I trust she didn't suffer?

I'm still a mess. I literally can't believe what just happened. This is truly the worst day of my life. The worst part is that I can see no end in sight for my grieving. Does getting another dog help?

Dude we have all been there. It gets better. Just take it day by day and do things you like to do. Getting another dog helps and you might want to do that.

I can't stop crying. I really dont want to go to sleep. I am so scared to go to sleep and wake up tomorrow realizing she is gone. I dont think I can get another dog yet. I'm even more of a wreck than I was earlier today.

Dude we have all been there. It gets better. Just take it day by day and do things you like to do. Getting another dog helps and you might want to do that.

When does it get better? I am so scared I'm going to be grieving for years.

That sucks dude. I had a dog that was sick a few years back. My dad and me took him to the vet. We brought him home and two hours later he died. It is rough losing a pet. My prayers are with you and your family man. Just remember, she is not suffering now and all dogs go to heaven.

It will get better. Just take it day by day. And don't worry about crying all night. Let it all out. This is a heavy thing you are going through. You can call your Doctor and see if they can prescribe you something.

It will get better. Right now you can't see that, but just listen to the guys on here that went through the same thing and they are doing OK now. You just need to give it time.

Oh my. I'm so sorry. Let me say that all of you here at OS have meant so much to me. I really need you guys right now. Do dogs really go to heaven? That would be terrific.

I hear you Scott. If it wasn't for you guys I probably would have done something really irrational by now. Thanks for keeping me in a somewhat calm state fellas.

For me it was easier becasue I was out of the house. My mom had the dog and I was newly married. But I went with my mom to put her to sleep. I say give it a couple days and you will start doing better. If not you need to go to some grief class. Some hospital have them.
