      This deserves a:

      *insert UK flag*

This has to be a top 5 most important day of the 20th century (only possible more important dates are Hiroshima and the 3 dates involving Lenin/Stalin).

Hell, this deserves a double *Union Jack*

If it were not for D-Day's success and the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, millions more would have lost their lives in the war, most likely.

Saying thanks just doesn't seem to be sufficient, until i think of something better........God bless the souls of all who helped take out one of the most vile murderous leaders in modern history.

That was one bad *** move! Even the Germans knew about it, but they didn't really know when it was going to happen. But when it did they couldn't even stop it! I love watching the old videos of it.

Rommel knew where it was gonna happen

Anyways I was thinking more about this and I have to think that D-Day is probably the greatest day in the history of the 20th century in that the world literally took one of the last steps to eradicating the worst collection of butchers the world has known.

Yeah Rommel was a bad *** general. Yeah I agree this was huge. Especially for the french people. Hitter was nut no doubt, but man that guy was one hell of a leader. I still can't believe all those people followed him.

I hope that I can visit the Normandy monuments and the graveyard at some point in my life.

Can't imagine what all the guys were thinking the night before and then getting into the landing craft boats.

i watched saving private ryan again last night...we all need to remember those who paid the price for what we enjoy today. war is something none of us want, but sometimes it must be done. thank God for those willing to defend us. What a tragic day that was 65 years ago...as noted above, thank you just doesn't seem adequate.

No doubt, those were real men.

I just wish more Generations after them showed them the respect they deserve, and realize what was done to give them the freedoms that they have.

Seems like alot people in this country take it for granted, like most things.
