    Re: Spider in my bed

Oh man my wife has this recurring dream where she thinks there is a spider in the bed. She always wakes up in a panic, frantically punches me in the arm and forces me to get out of bed and check. Not once has there been a spider...

          Re: Spider in my bed

I hate spiders, and will probably freak depending on how far away the spider is.

My wife is DEATHLY afraid of spiders, almost to the point of it triggering a breakdown. It's easy to understand with her, though. She has been bitten by Hobo spiders at least twice, and both times, it opened up a nasty wound on her leg. It left a pretty noticeable scar as well. If she sees one around, she is almost in tears.

          Spoiler

Like I said, I don't blame her. Both the bites happened before we met, but when we started dating, one charged her when we were on the phone and she freaked out.

If I see one, it's dead on site. I'll hunt that POS until I get it cornered and can kill it. Especially with a 2-year-old running around. I've read that some spider bites can kill toddlers. Pretty scary stuff.

I will spare you guys the pics on what their bite can do, but I will say that in it's worst form, it makes the Brown Recluse's bite look like child's play.

Why not? Not even scumbag Steve would do this.

Of course I'm kidding, but I'll admit I've entertained the thought of having a pet spider. The little ones are so awesome, but ever since my family dealt with the ant problem two years ago I've only seen three spiders (including that huge one I talked about two years ago in this thread).

Dude, that thing is freaking nasty, It charged her!

I will not buy that bs "that their more scared then we are". I remember poking what looked like a brown recluse on the hood of my car, expecting it to run away, and then to my horror this mother'fer is attacking the stick. his was a big stick too, I just expected it to shoot a web out and attach it's self to my face. I mean that was ridiculous...

Those Hobo Spiders are evil looking man, I'm sorry to hear that happened to your wife, it truly is horrifying.

Man, not looking forward to the weather warming up and the death spiders (as I refer to all spiders nowadays) coming out to play.

I **** spiders up though. I was surprise attacked once and ever since, I've vowed to always be the aggressor. But if you go in for the kill, go hard or go home... IN A BOX

Luckily I live in Southern California, so I don't get many spiders here. But I hate the things, freak out every time I see one.

I moved from Pittsburgh to North Carolina a few months ago, and the insects down here are like nothing I saw up north.

When we were moving in, there was something that looked like a bumble bee flying near our door, but I swear the thing was three inches long. Scared the bejesus out of me.

A few weeks ago I walked into our kitchen to see a spider that had to be three inches from the tip of one leg to the tip of another. I put on socks and squashed it with the swiffer sweeper... Lol... Gotta keep your distance.

My first day at work down here my boss was showing me some stuff outside and I was just reaching into dark spaces, thinking nothing of it. He stopped me and said "hey, you really gotta watch when you are reaching into things. We have black widows and fiddle backs down here." Low and behold, we took a look in the corner or an aluminum box and there was a black widow spider chilling out on its web.

I will deal with the snow up here in New York if it keeps Giant spiders away, I am also pleased that our roaches up here are tiny.
