Hey Blzer , do all of your students have their "own" laptops? We have 1:1 technology and it's both a gift and a curse.

There is a class set of Chromebooks in the classroom. We rarely use them. I don't think I have used them once for my pre-calc classes. My algebra classes will sometimes use them because they are registered to an eBook online, and we will refer to their toolkits time to time.

Was tired and in the zombie-like state that seems unique to the modern professional life bane of dead-time at the airport when I was asked what time it was by a fellow traveler, and after staring at my watch for what seemed like 10 seconds at least, I proceeded to give them the wrong time.

No idea why my brain just shuts down to that degree sometimes. But I do know how to tell time, I swear! Also, I'm an old guy because I still wear a watch.

Just had a worse one. Was helping out the 12U team in my softball organization involving relays. I spoke about my OF experience and how we try and throw through the cut-off, and told the girls: "Take it from me, I play out there like I don't want my balls to be cut off. In fact, I don't expect them to."

I have to catch a break one of these days. Anyone ever see jmood's signature?

This reminds me of how I often wake up totally confused in the middle of the night and just stare at my clock trying to figure out what the numbers mean.

The parents laughed. I ended up in like a low catcher's squat, sunken into my glove.

I was playing couch co-op Rocket League with my friend in doubles matches online. Like ya do, we were verbally communicating to each other obviously as a strategy. After about two matches, he already picked up on some of the things I was saying and decided to ask, "Why are you saying the game's same exact commands?"

Turns out the only kinds of things I would say were:

                  Spoiler

I didn't even catch it. I literally wouldn't say anything else except these things.

Re: Your brain fart(s) of the day

Here is a brain fart that occurs for me routinely, and is not just a one-day occurrence:

If I am dishing out leftovers with say a fork, I will place that fork on a paper towel on my dining room table while I'm heating up the food in a microwave. Every time that I take out that food after time is up, I naturally proceed to my silverware drawer and take out a new fork and stick it in the food, only to realize upon reaching the dining room table that I already have a used fork sitting right there.

Never fails. You think I'd learn by now.

                      Solution, own only 1 fork.

Knowing me, I'd probably still go to the drawer, find no forks are there, and try and use a spoon as an alternate before I return to the dining room to reveal my only fork sitting there.

                          Brain fart/karma.

Was entering a building today, saw some girl in a wheelchair, I thought she was gonna go in so I went first and held door open, then looked towards her and she wasn't even paying attention, just there on her phone. So I thought maybe she just isn't coming in, so I just continued going inside, and by time I turned around I see she's now getting in using the wheelchair button. Who knows if she ever noticed I held door open or anything. Hope not or else that'd look bad.

Anyways, I went on elevator right after, pressed the floor I wanted to go to, elevator went up, stopped, I walked out, then noticed I walked onto the wrong floor lol. Either I pressed wrong floor or someone from that floor pressed for elevator. Either way, I just continued walking like I meant to be there, then just nonchalantly took the stairs since I only needed to go up 1 floor more.

Went to Rite Aid today, get to the counter and there's a note taped down that says "I'm sorry, I lost my voice, do you have plenti card?" I said "yep, phone number" and punched in my number. I was buying alcohol so she held up another note saying she needs ID for alcohol or tobacco purchase. I show ID, and eventually transaction concludes. She hands me my receipt and out of habit I say "thank you, you too"

I felt bad for the lady for having to go through that routine for everyone her entire shift, but can't help but laugh at myself
