I don't know how people can laugh at that.

Not only did these two girls miss out on a big high school experience, they were basically slapped in the face by the administration and parents.

SMH, these are the people who are supposed to be setting an example for the kids. Not a good example to set.

That's how I always felt about prom's and I never went to one. I was invited to ones in high school and even had a date, but declined and didn't go. Just not my thing I guess.

I don't really find this a laughing matter either. Even if you say "what's the big deal, it's just prom", you are missing the point. Sure high school is just a minute part of our life, but being mistreated like that is something that will be hard to forget. At my highschool prom we had girls bringing guys in their mid to late 20's, so you're telling me that them doing that is more "acceptable" than two girls going together as dates? What were they going to do, scissor each other on the dance floor? C'mon now.

I see you're still upset that nobody wanted to go with you.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

It wasn't that. I just don't understand the appeal of it. I didn't go because it sounded boring and awkward as hell.

I was that kid that hated pretty much everyone in his class, though. So that might have had something to do with it. I thought, and still think, that they were all monumental douchebags.

I completely agree, but it is also wrong to discriminate someone because of their sexual orientation too.

This is kind of sickning. I mean people don't chose to be gay and for a school to do that is just wrong. It is so wrong for them to make a fake prom and not tell her about the other one

My point is, why should either situation be treated any differently.

But to avoid getting in any further trouble I'll shut up.
Sorry if that came off as an attack.

Issues over the confederate flag come up every few months in SC. It's sickening.

So you and me are pretty much alike, because I was the exact same way in high school. I burned so many bridges my junior and senior years because I felt the same about my classmates.

And like you and Z, I didn't go to my prom, despite potential dates each year. It's pretty pointless to me. Pay for her dinner, chauffeur her around, watch her disappear once you get into the doors and spend the evening with douchebags and cakefaced sluts and all for what? To wake up the next morning with herpes. Yeah, no thanks.

But if I was this girl, I'd work the hell out of this and try to pimp as much money out of this as possible. Although this was wrong, like someone else said, I wouldn't let it get to me. High School/prom is just a fraction of your life, and just another opportunity for a bunch of hyper-sexual kids to spread their VD.

race and sexual orienation are two different things. you are born with your skin but, most/many people think that you "choose" to be gay. The last group to be discriminated will be fat people because you "choose" to be fat.

As a Christian myself I don't agree with homosexuality but, I don't hate anyone who is.(my best friend in college was gay) Not trying to offend anyone here just stating my case that I don't agree with running away and having your own gayfree prom.

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.
