Go look for studies not sanctioned by religious groups or universities and you will see this come up more and more. I really cannot comprehend the level of ignorance it must take to believe sexual orientation is a conscious choice.

that's no where near my point. There are racists down here, no denying that, but that's a very small population believe it or not.

A small part of the population, well that certainly explains why it is illegal for a homosexual couple to adopt in Mississippi.

IMO (and my hopes) are that tolerance just takes time. Racial equality has come a long long way in the past 50 years, and I have to hope that in 20-30 years society will get more tolerant about sexuality and other issues.

I cited 5 studies (and there are many more) that support the idea that homosexuality is determined by nature.

There was also an Australian study (can't find a link) that found that identical twins were more likely than fraternal twins to share homosexual feelings. That's a sort of pattern we expect to see when genes are having an influence on sexual orientation.

We've come a long way, but there are still issues that need to be fixed. But I agree with you, we can only hope that our society can become more tolerant of the differences we face.
