A 1981 study by the Kinsey Institute completely debunked this. Boys growing up in father-absent homes were NOT more likely to be gay.

Furthermore, sons of gay men were not more likely to become gay if they lived with their gay father.

All manner of men have the likelihood of something, it's what is developed from the brain. A child is unable to talk or walk without being shown and given an example on a continual basis and the same principal applies to homosexuality.
Homosexuality is comparable to learning how to walk?

I'm sorry to be so blunt, but you're talking nonsense.

Words cannot describe how uninformed and ignorant this post actually is.....I mean really I want to find the words but I don't think they exist. But based on your "principal" [sic], children who come from heterosexual homes cannot become homosexual and only the adopted children of homosexual couples would become homosexual. Really, do you not realize how absolutely ridiculous that sounds?

You're wasting your time. Some people just have a hard time believing proven facts or studies. There is a word for them and it starts with an "i" and ends with "gnorant".

It really flies in the face of both common sense and scientific consensus.

Everything in that post is completely wrong. Completely.

Unfortunately, racial equality, at least in a public school setting, has regressed. Public schools are more segregated today than they were 40 years ago. Add to the fact that these schools are underfunded, understaffed and don't provide students with the education they need to be successful post graduation.

FWIW, statistically, there are more 'segregated' schools in the Western portion of the country and not the South.

No kidding.....I just don't understand in the year 2010 how people can still believe that. Next someone will say women choose to be raped.....and before anyone asks no I really don't think there is any difference in the correlation.

Just check most churches....voluntarily racially segregated, even of Easter sunday.

We haven't come that far. Dr. King's dream is still a long ways off.

But still the difference is the western US didn't need the US Supreme Court to tell them segregation was wrong. A lot of the segregation today is the product of socioeconomic pressures forcing people to live in regions of largely the same race or ethnic background. It is not by operation of state law.

                    This is true.

I also said FWIW, and wasn't implying anything beyond what studies have shown.

Do not let me stand in the way of your liberal convictions however I will continue to refuse sodomy for what it is. Again, regarding the actions of the parents of why the thread was created - the actions are irrefutably moronic and immature to which most here can agree with. If I understand that there will be something I don't want my children to be exposed to (such as drinking, sex, immoral behavior, etc.) I will be straight up and inform both my children and other parents of my decision.

I won't go any further b/c of the TOS but I want to state one thing:

You state that I am utterly wrong but conclude that you are perfectly correct (which foremost is highly egocentric) however I understand b/c of different upbringings and ways we were taught. You live in an area which is one of the largest gay regions compared to where I live so the differences in both opinion and tolerance would be expected.

Maybe it's like in "The Happening". The trees talk to each other and turn you gay, but it's only the trees in certain areas.

I think it should be closed. There is way too much hypocrisy going on in this thread for anything positive to come out of it.

We live in a state with nearly 40 million people. We have pretty much the largest (insert social group) population here.

I get your point, but tolerance in this day and age shouldn't be reliant on region should it? By the year 2010, shouldn't people be able to simply accept people for who they are? No matter their race, religion, etc, etc. I really would have hoped we as a nation and a people would have progressed more by now.

Despite your beliefs, if she is gay, who friggin cares? It doesn't affect you, so why would you possibly care? That's what I don't get about this whole thing. She's gay, how is that possibly affecting anyone around her? Why do they even care?
