I cant believe its the 21st Century and people still think that you can choose to be Homosexual. All I know is that I was born Heterosexual and could not possibly choose to be Homosexual. Why is it so difficult to think that the Reverse is possible?

Ok, maybe I can get this back on topic to avoid closure.....

I wish I would have went with my gut feeling and refrained from going to my prom. I initially decided not to but was talked into going by a female friend who wanted me to go as her date. I didn't expect it to go have a romantic night, get drunk, and **** all night but I was still very disappointed with how the night went. We got in there and she pretty much disappeared chasing after this dude that she apparently had a crush on. She even asked him to be her boyfriend that night. He said no explaining to her that he was in to somebody else. So on the way home, she's crying and talking me to death about it. I proceeded to speed to her house and drop her the **** off. I won't trying to hear that ****. Anyway, I got up with some other friends and had a pretty good night (well, actually morning) after that. Can't help but feel like I should have never gone in the first place though.

One more mention of race in this thread and the thread gets closed and the person responsible is getting, at the very least, an infraction.

          Final warning.

Prom is definitely more for the girls. I mean they start planning for it 6 months in advance. I caught grief for waiting til 2 weeks before to ask a girl. I could care less about the prom and had no feelings for my date. Just needed somebody to take a picture with.

Fast forward 10 years and now I'm a teacher. I had to chaperone the prom. You'd think it was the Oscars with all the people we had outside taking pictures . Most of the couples only stayed long enough to take pictures. It started at 7 and was a ghost town by 10...was to last til midnight

Re: HS girl was sent to a "fake prom"

My wife and I chaperone our high school's prom.

Last year, during the grand march, the first couple introduced is a female in a dress...and a female in a tux...who is pregnant. Weirdest sight I've seen in a while, and probably confused a few people, but no one in our school made a stink about it.

For the most part, there hasn't been that much of a stink about same-sex issues at our high school fortunately.

What really saddens me in this case is that it wasn't just the kids doing something, but all the parents supported it. I just shake my head at the parents and their horrible parenting skills.

The scary part is there were adults who signed off on this. Sets a good example of tolerance and open mindedness.

                    The South is awesome.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

No kidding, stories like this make me glad I live NORTH of the Mason Dixon line. I guess people who will hate others will find others to hate no matter what. The parents who organized this are disgusting individuals at best. What is seriously wrong with people in the South that an entire community would think that this is okay to do?

The actions of one do not represent the actions of the rest. This could have just as easily happened in Washington or Minnesota.

What a weird situation all around. I hated prom and anything like that. All that fairy music and dancing to techno "cotton-eyed joe"... only brings back nightmares.

You just stereotyped an entire region of a country...

and didn't Cali just vote yes for that prop 8 making marriage between a man and woman? That doesn't sound like equality to me.
