Because being gay is contagious. If she went to the "normal prom", she would infect everyone around her.

LOL. Sadly I think some actually believe that.

If I understand that there will be something I don't want my children to be exposed to (such as drinking, sex, immoral behavior, etc.) I will be straight up and inform both my children and other parents of my decision.
If you oppose homosexuality on moral grounds, fine, I can't convince you otherwise. We'll agree to disagree there.

Just don't spout off stereotypes and debunked myths to support your opinion.

You live in an area which is one of the largest gay regions compared to where I live so the differences in both opinion and tolerance would be expected.
The point you made about homosexuality and learnedness is an empirical one. Either you're right or you're wrong. And studies have shown again and again that you're wrong.

I'm not being egocentric. I'm just stating facts.

LOL. Mississippi cracks me up sometimes. Devising an entire secret prom and the entire school keeping the secret is impressive.

And yawn at the typical bashers of the south. Same ****, different day.

LOL, I didn't know homosexuality was like the flu.

Homosexuality is present in about 3-4% of the population. Hardly life-threatening.

When I was younger an uneducated I use to think that homosexuality was by choose. After taking a physcology course (which I hated) in college, my teacher told us that homosexuality has to do with an abnormality in the brain. She also didn't want to go into further details about it because its such a touchy subject to people. So I did some research and scientific facts support what she told us.
