    Why was this guy unbanned?

And no I'm not embarrassed to tell anyone. Why would I be?

It was in 2005 I just got out of a relationship with a girl I was dating for awhile (that I ended btw) and my dad worked as a manager at an IHOP back then. So my now wife and a few of her friends came in at like 1:30 in the morning and my idiot father goes to their table and tells them, "you girls seem nice I have a son around your age who just got out of a relationship and is really down and needs someone to talk to." (WTF!!! leave the girls alone... This was not true at all, I was not down I was happy because I just broke up with a psycho.)

So he showed them a recent picture of me he had in his wallet and I guess they thought I was good looking or whatever. So my dad decides to pull out his cell phone right there and call me and wakes me up out of bed. He says.."Hey Jeremy I have these 3 good looking girls around your age here who think your hot do you want to talk to them?" I'm like WTF is this some kind of joke and hung up the phone confused and just shook my head.

The next morning I see a note on the dining room table from the 3 girls that said, "Hey your dad was funny, sorry we woke you up, your dad was nice and said you were a good guy" and it had all 3 of their numbers. I just picked one number randomly (my now wife) and texted her to apologize for my dad being creepy and weird and thought that would be it. Well before you know she texted back, and started texting back and forth and what not, then talked on the phone, then met in person, and the rest is history.

So my creepy and weird dad who has embarrassed me all my life pretty much hooked me and my wife up.

I don't like to tell people that. Sorry for the long post.

The hell, that is a vicious story. I would rather tell that story than to tell someone I met my girl off of MySpace. Damn good story. Only embarassing part if your father going out of his way to start it up
        Concrete evidence/videos please

LOL, that's just how my dad is. I'm the exact opposite of him. He will talk to anyone, anywhere, and I have had quite a few "facepalms" in my life because of things he has done and said to people lol.

Damn imagine if you could have had a 3-on-1 "handicap match" with those girls. Did you ever see the other 2? Who looked the best

I did see the other 2 because they were best friends with my wife during that time. 1 is a major slut who has a list of problems, and the other one is currently pregnant (2nd child I think) and has no job. She does look decent and is a nice girl and all but she was not my type at all.

And my wife looks the best and was obviously the best one suitable for me.

I got lucky. I literally just picked her number because it was the easiest one to dial lol.

LOL that's hilarious. Weird how things that seem so messed up turn out to be a great thing in the end. Even more weird that the 1 random number you selected turned out to be your future wife. lol.

I'm not agreeing with your blanket statement which indicates that everybody looks down upon those who found their SO through the internet. Your response fell in line with DC's where you were on one extreme disregarding the middle ground.

Was I immature in insulting you? Yes I was. Was I insulted first? Yes, it was through the deleted post message in which you incorrectly spelled sensitive...sensative

And I'm done hijacking the thread and going off on my rant against egocentric individuals.

That is an awesome story! My dad is a VERY charming guy who cracks jokes and is extremely outgoing (talks to anyone anytime as well). I however find him hilarious and totally get his sense of humor (though I'm a lot like him). My sister on the other hand has had her share of face palms, lol. My dad is from Iran and has a very goofy sense of humor. I wish I could explain it.

I'll never forget my sister's orientation breakfast in college. It was me, my dad, my sister, and her friend/ my (now ex) gf. It was super quiet as all the nervous freshman and their families were eating. One kid tried to break the ice by asking everyone their major. It was a music school so everyone was like, "I'm piano", "I'm clarinet", etc. it gets to my sister and she says, "I'm voice". My dad then says, "And I am breakdancing!", lmao. His delivery was perfect.

All the other people looked at my dad like he was nuts, and my sister was so embarrassed, but my ex and I were damn near on the floor laughing.

Can't possibly say it is the same thing because it takes WAY less balls to send a girl a message on FB than it is to walk up to her and put work in.
I agree to a certain extent. I met my fiance at a restaurant, she was my server. I flirted a little the first 2 times I saw her, but she totally blew me off. I mean did not laugh at my jokes, and believe me I tried hard, or pay me any more attention than the other guys I was eating with. Then I overheard her talking about her MySpace with another customer. I went back to work and "cyber stalked" her. I explained who I was and how I found her on myspace and that I was not a creepy stalker. We began chatting there, then talking on the phone and one thing led to another and we've been together ever since.

I am a little embarrassed by it, only because I've never been the most confident guy with women and I took the easier way out and asked her out over myspace instead of in person. It is just a layer of protection in that if you get turned down you don't have that personal face to face rejection. I think that is what DC was talking about. I don't care that people know how we met, but I am just a tad embarrassed because I didn't just "man up" and ask her out right in the restaurant. It does take WAY LESS balls to ask them out over the internet. I admit it. However, it's not like I've never asked a girl out in person, it is just easier to do over the internet or text message. Text message is now the way that guys ask girls out. It takes all the anxiety out of the possible rejection because it is impersonal. Good or bad, embarrassing to admit or not, that is the reality of the world we live in.

that is an awesome story about your dad hooking you up with your future wife. My parents so anti tech that they don't even have cell phones at all.
