I've been running for the last 9 years or so. I run in all types of brands but I'm really impressed by the Under Armour Speedform Apollo. Lightweight, roomy for the toes, and they also do not have insoles. Shoes were constructed at a bra factory.

Re: OS Running Thread
I run typically four miles a day, almost every day. I wear basic Nike running shoes. I've run almost every day for about two years now. Running is a part of who I am. It clears my mind when I'm upset about something, it makes me feel good. I live in the woods, so it's nice getting a breath of fresh air and seeing the wilderness. I just got back from a four mile run on my challenge course; it's a half mile (all uphill) up my road to a stop-sign, then I turn right, run a little more than a half mile downhill/flat road in some parts. Then, the challenge: a very, very steep hill. It's practically straight up/down, depending which way I'm going. I used to really struggle to run the hill, but now I'm good at it. After the hill, it's about another half mile of flat road to a four way stop sign. Then, I turn around, and go home, running up the big hill. It's always fun when I'm on the last downhill half mile home. It's two miles to the four way stop, two miles back, all in all four miles.
I've trained quite hard, and have gotten to the point that I can consistently do a ~5:36 mile time on a track.Ravens: In Ozzie We Trust

Re: OS Running Thread
Running my first official 10K in October. Course description says its a mix of gravel roads and trails. I'm wondering if I should buy (and run in) trail shoes for this, or just use my regular running shoes?Currently Playing:

Re: OS Running Thread
Assuming you aren't running in racing flats or minimalist shoes you should be fine on trails at that distance.Comment

With the Charleston Distance Run coming up Saturday morning, I'm hoping to knock out those 15 miles in at least 1:40-1:45 ish.

Re: OS Running Thread
Moved across town a couple of weeks ago and man, it's been a big change for my running routine. Where I was living before was pretty flat for the most part, and now I'm surrounded by hills. They aren't tiny hills, either.
The hills have made the runs harder, but that's OK. I figure it's helping build some extra leg strength, plus change is always good. I'm sure I'll notice a difference for the better when I run that flat 10K in three weeks.Currently Playing:

Dropped a good amount off of my 3 Mile time when we'd run it on a relatively flat course.badComment

Re: OS Running Thread
Man I would kill for hills where I am. It is flat and it is desert. When I do end up going somewhere where there are hills I am spent. Hills help your running so much. Attack them!
Race series starts in town here this week. 14 races throughout the year (Sept-Apr) with standings and everything. Good fun overall.Comment

I started running on flat courses but really love running up hills and mountains since I moved back to my home state.Fav teams:

Re: OS Running Thread
I need to stop being a bitch and run the hills here. It's either Hills or the beach and I hate running on the beach.

Re: OS Running Thread
Finished my first 10K race yesterday. The course was challenging and harkened back to my XC days, so not what I was expecting (was told it was a mix of gravel and pavement). I finished in 56 min. Was hoping for sub-55, but that was with the expectation of a different course. I am happy with my time. If I had trail shoes, I probably would've done a little better, but oh well.
The good news is that the 6-mile distance doesn't feel taxing to me, like it did the first couple of times I ran that far.Currently Playing:

I'm trying to get ready for a local 10k here in one month. My longest run recently has been 4 miles so I have some work to do.

Re: OS Running Thread
I think training up and down hills have helped me tremendously. I ended up finishing second in our local half marathon last weekend.Fav teams:
