re: OS Fine Spirits Appreciation Thread
I've been around, we just don't have meebo anymore to shoot the breeze.
So it has recently come to my attention that craft distilleries are popping up, and there is even one in Texas of interest.

Supposedly tastes like liquid BBQ

Going to have to scrounge up my meager dollars an look into digging these up.
Also of interest

re: OS Fine Spirits Appreciation Thread
I believe they're getting away with the word "Moonshine" because it's simply an unaged white whiskey. Micro distillery in Tennessee called Ole Smokey only sells "moonshine."Comment

re: OS Fine Spirits Appreciation Thread
Headed down to the Global Beverage Warehouse tomorrow to grab my bottle of Blanton's bourbon. Only place "local" (as in within 30 minutes) that had it. Oh well, that place has an unreal selection of whisky, so i'm sure i'll walk out of there with something else as well.
Might try some of the Forty Creek posted earlier in the thread. I'm occasionally in the mood for a more mild and easygoing whiskey, so that would fit the bill once my bottle of Basil Hayden runs dry.Comment

Finally trying it.
Pretty damn good. Better than expected - I assumed it'd be overly sweet, but its just got a nice flavor to it. It'll be a perfect "dessert" drink for me.Comment

I'm not a drinker by any chance of the word but I tried this -- Junior Johnson's Midnight Moon Moonshine and it's amazing. The strawberry and apple pie is just great.

Tried this over the holiday weekend, I don't think I had ever had a 100% rye whiskey before. It was good though, picked up a bottle to add some diversity to my shelf. 100 proof, get ready! lol
