Jameson. I am interested in trying Bushmills and Tullamore Dew. I am also in the camp that says Jim Beam and Jack Daniels are crap.

My roommate is a big whisky drinkers and he always goes with Makers on the rocks. That stuff is good.

I'm always willing to try a new whiskey, but I agree. Of the three majors, Jameson is the only one I'll drink. I find Jack and Johnnie Walker (I know the blasphemy) to be awful.

To be fair, I don't know for sure if I've had Johnnie Walker Blue Label. I'd probably like that one.

And now I want a small glass of Jameson's. Gonna do that.

Johnnie Walker Red is putrid, but everything from black label up is good stuff. Still haven't had the Blue, but I can't imagine disliking it.

And agreed with gerg, Glenlivet is good stuff. The 12 year is my go to scotch, but I'd love to get my hands on some 18 year sometime.

To the guys that hate Jack, have you tried the Gentleman Jack or Single Barrel offerings? I'll agree that No. 7 is awful, but Gentleman and Single Barrel are excellent IMO.

I have not. But I'm open to trying. I'm relatively new to really being a whiskey drinker and just fell in love with Jameson. But I know that I've tried the typical Jack and Johnnie whiskeys. So very willing to try the others. Maybe I'll ask for them at bars.

I've never been a fan of any blended scotch whisky. Johnny Walker is terrible...I have Red, Black & Green and didn't like any of them. I'd take a cheaper single malt over an expensive blended any day (although I am curious to try johnny walker blue).

I tried the JD Single Barrel last Christmas at my cousins and thought it was good.

I will try anything. There is a $14 a bottle whiskey I get called Fighting ****. It's 103 prrof and I happen to enjoy it.

Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey is my favorite, granted it's the only whiskey i've had it's by far my favorite liquor to use.

Forgot about this. Had it. Not bad. Not a preference but not bad.

Anyone who loves near Seattle, I HIGHLY recommend Mischief. It's made in Fremont and its incredible.

Has anyone tried the Woodford Maple?

It's OK, finishing in toasted wood gives it an unpleasant harsh finish (similar to what happened with the Chardonnay barrel Buffalo Trace). The harshness mellowed a bit after a while (perhaps it just needed to brethe, similar to Pappy Van Winkle). It's sweeter than Woodford, with obvious maple flavors, and the finish is a bit Rum like and still kinda harsh. It's an interesting experiment.

This year's Woodford Four Wood is interesting, don't buy a bottle but if you get the chance smell it. Just don't drink it, it'll ruin the experience of the exceptional aroma.

Had some more Basil Hayden last night. I'd highly recommend it to anyone just entering the world of whiskey/whisky. It's probably the easiest sipping whiskey you can find. Barely any burn, not much of a challenge taste wise, and within a couple minutes, there's hardly any lingering taste left in your mouth.

I've moved on to bigger whiskey's now, but I'll never turn Basil down. Just an easygoing drink.

I'd thought about trying one of the limited run Woodford's, but I've heard varying reviews. I've got no qualms with the regular Woodford Reserve, so I guess I'll stick with that.

Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey is my favorite whiskey, although I've only tried around 3 or 4 different kinds of whiskey.

I tried some scotch a few nights for the first time, that stuff is hell. I don't know how people drink it lol. Maybe I just got a cheap brand of scotch or something, I' m not sure but it was horrid.

Yeah, scotch very rarely falls in the middle ground. It's either really good stuff or putrid. If you get a chance, order some Glenlivet 12 neat at the bar. Very good and easy to handle scotch.
