Re: ATTN: OS Poker Players
Ugh...now I'm starting to hate Stars. In the last 2 days I've had way too many bad beats. Just had AA vs. KK and the dude hit a K on the flop.Comment

Re: ATTN: OS Poker Players
My bank rhymes with "Space" has stopped allowing Echecks with stars, so now
I'm forced to play on FT which I'm not happy about.
I just like having more HU games avaiable to me."Good music transcends all physical limits, it's more then something you hear, it's something that you feel, when the author, experience, and passion is real" - Murs (And this is for)Comment

Re: ATTN: OS Poker Players
I did rebound and take 2nd in a sit and go...I'm gonna try and play those to rebuild my bankroll...I'm WAY too impatient to play micro limit games.
EDIT: To a mod/admin, is it alright for me to PM these guys the information? I just wanted to check before I did...I didn't see anything in the TOS regarding online poker or anything, but wanted to make sure.Last edited by BunnyHardaway; 01-24-2011, 01:26 AM.Comment

Re: ATTN: OS Poker Players
You can always use the Western Union method, or have a friend ship you some funds for cash. I've done both methods on Stars and never had a problem.Comment

Don't forget to use proper bankroll management, otherwise you'll be toast. Even the best players in the world would go broke if they weren't properly rolled for the games they were playing in.

Re: ATTN: OS Poker Players
It's pretty much impossible to win money in the long term like that. Proper bankroll management is almost as important as your ability in the grand scheme of things, especially if you plan on making profit down the road. I used to play in cash games I wasn't rolled for and while every now and then I would win big, the losing sessions would cripple me. Especially if I had several of them in a short span.

Re: ATTN: OS Poker Players
For cash games I try not play in ones that I do not have at least 50 buy-ins for.
If you wanted to play in games where the buy-in was $2 I would reccommend having at least $100 in your account for proper bankroll management purposes. That way, even if you get a string of bad beats the variance won't hurt you, especially if you are a solid player.Comment

That's still a bit too high of stakes for that small of a roll.

-Take at least 50x the big blind to cash games
-Never use more than 10% of your bankroll at one game/tourny (so if I had $100, take up to $10 to the table or only play $10 buy-in or less tournaments)
Your system does seem a bit more fail safe than mine. Tonight I embarked on a goal to turn my $15 into $125 by 4/1/11 playing only $1.20 single table SnG's...so far not so good.Comment

Re: ATTN: OS Poker Players
3 of the 4 I've played tonight I've finished 3rd once and 4th three times, but only the top 3 pay. I play very tight so I always make it down to that point, but when I do I'm either the short stack or close to it...I get afraid to make any big moves. Playing tight is the right way to go IMO, I just can't find a happy medium.
EDIT: It's not helping that every time I've busted, I've been a heavy favorite pre-flop and keep getting cracked over and over. I hope I catch a heater soon.Last edited by BunnyHardaway; 01-24-2011, 06:17 AM.Comment

Re: ATTN: OS Poker Players
How often do you see a flop in average tournament?
Anything less than 10% is far too tight and isn't profitable long term and makes your play extremely predictable.
Anything between 10% and 15% is on the tighter side of solid and can be very profitable in the long term. Makes bluffing easier and gives you a more stable table image.
Anything between 15% and 20% is on the looser side of solid and can be profitable if you are a very good player post-flop. Makes bluffing a bit more difficult, but people will hero call you when you have the goods.
Anything more than 20% is far too loose and is a first class ticket to busto.
Basically, right around 15% is about optimal and allows you to change gears a bit too. It will also make it easier to bluff in certain situations as well as get called on your value bets as well.Last edited by 55; 01-24-2011, 06:04 PM.Comment
