I never understood what people see in the beach. It just bores the hell out of me.

That sucks, but it could be worse I suppose.

I love the beach, but I enjoy it more at night than during the day.

I'm going to be looking for a good sports bar on Saturday, when I go to Daytona next week.

Hopefully people watch things besides Florida, Florida State, and Miami.

I love the mountains, too, and they can be even more serene, but something about the beach just pulls my soul-strings.

I dislike the metropolis beaches like Myrtle, though.

I love spending all day lounging on a beach towel while working on my tan. Have some music playing, a football or frisbee to toss around with the boys, cooler filled with some food and drink. Take a couple walks up and down the beach. Enjoy the view.

I rarely even go in the water. Mainly stick to swimming pools.

Guys I'm in a difficult situation and need some advice. So for the past 3-4 days I haven't felt right, on Friday morning I thought I was coming down with a cold. Some mild nasal congestion, swollen lymph nodes side of neck, and just overall stuffiness. Thought mild head cold, but on Saturday I went to work and felt ****y as all hell. Very lethargic, muscle fatigue, especially shoulders, arms, completely lost my appetite. The little food that I did eat I forced down, and my breathing was irregular it felt like I was having an anxiety attack.

I have no idea how I made it through my 8 hour work shift but I did, when I got home I told myself if I don't feel any better I will just ask my Dad to take me to the Hospital so I could find out what was wrong. Yesterday morning I woke up after sleeping 10 hours and did feel a little better, I wasn't as stiff and my appetite came back a little bit; but still not near normal. The only problem was my neck was very stiff.

So as of now I'm feeling a little better the neck stiffness kind of subsided, and I'm eating some Soup; my concern is if I should still go to a Hospital as a pre-caution? I looked up my symptoms and the only possibility I could find was Mononucleosis or Lymphoma; I don't think Lymphoma would come on that severe as it usually spreads gradually and slowly and my symptoms came on suddenly and are subsiding. All the symptoms for Mono match the fatigue, irregular breathing, and loss of appetite can be attributed to an Enlarged spleen; but I don't have any bad cough and signs of bad sore throat which are the tell tale signs of mono.

My problem is have work on Wednesday and I can't afford any more call outs; if I go to the hospital and they can't find anything wrong with me. I will have wasted money for nothing; really stuck on what to do here. I keep thinking if I get worse I'll go, but my symptoms seem to getting better. On the other hand if I really do have Mono I don't want to go to work and get others sick.

I'd go see a doctor. Do you guys have walk in clinics? You could go sometime today and get it over with that way if it's nothing serious then you can go to work without issue.

I'll probably have to start getting ready to check myself into the Hospital then, and be ready to drop $200-400.

Don't have enough time to just schedule a Walk-in Doctor's appointment with my new insurance I would have first have to find one within my network, and then schedule an appointment which probably won't go through until Thur-Fri at the earliest.

No urgent care clinics? My GF was in and out of one for vertigo a couple of weeks ago. We weren't even there for more than an hour on a walk-in.

I agree. Especially since my job revolves around beaches. It's fun maybe once a year but no more then that.

Good call, I've never had any serious health problems that required urgent care so I'm going to research and see if there are any within my area.

Question might sound dumb: but these are usually open 24/7 or Until late night? Because I'm going to need my Dad to drive me, only 1 car in family and he won't be home until at least 7:30 PM Est.

I believe most of them are. I remember going to one as a kid for stitches at 10pm. Just call and ask if it doesn't show up when you google them.

I love the beach. For me it's a spiritual thing, I guess. I can just walk it, or sit on a dune and just gaze out on the ocean and listen to the waves and the gulls and think about life....or absolutely nothing.

Of course, I'm talking about quieter beaches, not the Jersey Shore or Los Angeles beaches. I'm talking Northern Cali, Oregon, and WA State beaches where I've had those experiences.
