I watched Green Bay win the Super Bowl in 2010

Watched Nebraska lose to Miami in the NC and go through the Callahan Era.

Watched Utah become a contender only to be thwarted by Jerry Sloan's retirement and Deron Williams' trade.

Watched Butler lose two consecutive National Championship games.

It's been rough...

In my lifetime:

Bulls- 3 NBA titles
Twins- 6 AL Central Titles, no WS appearances
Eagles- 4 NFC Championship appearances, 1 SB appearance, no SB titles.

Soccer is the only sport in which my teams have had recent success... call me a glory hunter, whatever (Since I started really following soccer- 2010):

United- 2 EPL titles
Bayern- One Bundesliga Title, One DFL-Supercup, two CL final appearances, one CL title.

And an NL Central, which because the Brewers winning the World Series is never going to happen is the next best thing.

The Badgers won some Rose Bowls. Again, next best thing.

I understand Dallas in the early 90s...I was 5.


When I liked hockey, I did have the Devils but it doesn't count anymore as I pretty much grew out of hockey...same with baseball.

I was rooting for the Brewers to win the World Series in 2011, so my bad on that one.

I have...

Duke: don't remember '91 or '92. I remember watching the national semi against Maryland in '01 but not the title game against Arizona...I remember 2010, obviously.

Florida: don't remember '96, got to see '06 and '09

Flyers: no championship since '75, have only seen two finals appearances in '97 and 2010

Sonics: LOLNOPE

City: 2011-12, although I got too drunk the night before the QPR game and overslept it

Orioles: no title since '83, didn't watch baseball when they made the ALCS in '96-'97. Got to see the playoff run last year and went to ALDS Game 1 in Baltimore. Best sports experience of my life.

So while Florida and Duke gave me a nice run from '06-'10, my pro teams (sans City) haven't given me much to cheer for.

SMU Football/Basketball - terrible for the last 25 years

Dallas Cowboys - been off and on since the end of the 90s

Dallas Stars - Won in 99. Recently been average

Dallas Mavericks - Won in 11.

Texas Rangers - can't get over the hump.

So 2 Championships since 1999

Packers - 3 Super Bowl Appearances with 2 wins.

Nets - Back to back Finals appearances(02-03), goes 12-70 in one year and have basically floated around mediocrity/terrible for the last 5 years.

Maryland - 2 Final Four appearances with 1 National Championship, 1 ACC Title and are getting ready to move to the B1G.

So basically, my teams have won 2 championships combined in the last 14-15 years. And sorry, when you're a fan of two of the more successful schools in their respective sports' history, you lose ANY right to play the "My teams are cursed" card. If that's considered "cursed", I'd love for my teams to be "cursed" every year then.

I'll believe the Duke big man curse is lifted the next time we get a 5* center...until then, it's a curse. We haven't gotten one since Shelden Williams who was Class of '02. And the Kyrie thing cost Duke back to back championships.

Remember now, you're talking to a Maryland Fan so if that's considered "cursed", I'll gladly take those type of years here. Hell, I was excited just being among the Harrison Twins' Finalists even though we all knew they weren't going to choose Maryland over Kentucky.

In the last 6 years, Duke and Florida have won 3 National Championships(with Florida winning 2 out of 3). Hell, they've had more success in this century alone than more than 3/4ths of D1 Schools have had in their entire history. But yet they're cursed because one of them can't get a 5* center(which BTW has shown doesn't really mean squat in the grand scheme of things).

Duke curse? Yeah, okay.

My teams have combined for 7 championships in the 2000's. We've been very blessed in recent years. Could even call it spoiled if you'd like.

Anyway, had surgery this morning. Been posted up on the couch all afternoon. Started watching Sports Night and cannot get over how it's basically the same exact show as Newsroom on HBO. Heard people say that before but still surprised by how much they really are alike.

Redskins have made it to the playoffs, but that's all I can remember. I know they won the Super Bowl in '91, but **** I was 5 at the time so that's not even a memory. All I have are two Division titles and a couple play-off wins.

I've got the Rams in 99, plus a super bowl loss in 01

The Cardinals have won it twice in my lifetime, including 2011 when I was at game 7. Since 2000 have not gone more than 2 years without making the playoffs. I'm enjoying the run, especially since there's no guarantee it will keep going.
