Re: News that make you say WTF?

Sadly too many people in society has turned into the WorldStar society where people are more concerned with recording something to post on Worldstar instead of helping people out. I watched this video and to see that many people standing around while that tiny lady was getting the crap beat out of her is just sad. Once a person is down, the fight is over. No need to keep hitting them

    SALEM, N.J. -
A mother is brutally attacked while several people just stood around, watched and took videos in Salem County, New Jersey.

“I could have been dead right now, had she hit me in the right spot it could have been over, over nothing,” she said.

In pain and fighting back tears, 27-year-old Catherine Ferreira bravely spoke out Thursday. She is the victim seen on tape being viciously beaten in front of her 2-year-old son and bystanders with cameras.

“I think it's messed up no one came to my rescue,” said Ferreira. “We're supposed to set an example. You're in your 20s; I’m in my 20s like what are you doing?"

No one came forward to help the 4' 9", 100 pound, Ferreira during the taped beating except her son Xzavion. He repeatedly kicked the suspect, 25- year-old Latia Harris, trying to get her to stop.

“I became so much closer to my son because it's like he didn’t care what was going on,” said Ferreira. “He wasn’t afraid he just wanted to defend his mom. That’s my world right there. Like I love that boy so much."

"He's only 2 years old. He didn't even know what to do and he did what he was supposed to do," said the victim's brother Tyeish Brittingham.

Ferreira believes the attack was over a comment she made to a couple of friends about Harris and her manager at McDonald’s.

“Life is more bigger than just a job or just a guy , there's so much more to life,” said Ferreira.

Police say Harris left her post at McDonald’s in uniform and confronted Ferreira in a field behind McDonald’s after Ferreira went there to get a cheeseburger for her son.

How classless are you to beat someone in front of their child? She's probably in a gang or just hood trash....so sad

You don't see mature adults fighting like this...only the losers with no future

Re: News that make you say WTF?

Quit recording and call the damn police. But noooo, someone has to make sure they are the first to record something that shouldn't be recorded in the first place. How can bystanders not help, let alone let this little boy fight and scream for his mom. This world makes me so sick. I don't give a crap who she was, if I walked by and saw that, that lady is getting a beatdown herself. Piece of trash.

          Here's one

Parents spend their summer asking their children to get away from the street, but Louisville Metro Police say a mother put her infant there on purpose.

Parents spend their summer asking their children to get away from the street, but Louisville Metro Police say a mother put her infant there on purpose.

Dunia Abdullahi, 20, was arrested June 26 and charged with first degree child abuse and wanton endangerment.
Witnesses say they don't know what was going through her mind when Abdullahi put her three month old in the street and they surely can't understand it. Toni Yelder walked to a spot in front of her Cecil Avenue house five feet off the curb. That's how far out into the street she says she saw the baby.
"It was right here in the street and there were cars coming by," Yelder said. "We had to tell the cars like that, MOVE!"
Yelder couldn't comprehend what she was seeing, but she'll surely always remember it. She says she was walking back from the corner store at Cecil Avenue and Broadway, when she saw a woman arguing with her boyfriend and the man pull off.
"My little niece said, 'What? She just put a baby on the street,' and I turned around and said, 'She put the baby on the street?'" Yelder said.
Seventh grader Dyimene Criss also saw Abdullahi set her baby down. The infant was wearing only a diaper.
"She didn't say anything," Criss said. "She went back in the house."
Criss asked her cousin Angel Jordan to call 911.
"That's the craziest thing I've ever seen," Jordan said.
          Yelder had the same thought.
"I said, 'Girl, you're crazy. Pick that baby up. Pick that baby up, girl' and she said, 'Well that's what we do in Africa to get our husbands to come back to us. We put the baby in the streets,' or some stuff, 'and then they come back."
As we covered this story the next day the temperature in Louisville was 86 degrees. That's one degree cooler than police say it was when the infant was placed on the pavement. According to a thermometer, the pavement temperature was 133 degrees. Yelder said she took her shoe off to test the pavement as the baby girl was on the ground crying.
"It was hot immediately when I took my shoes off cause I didn't have no socks or nothing on," Yelder said. "The baby was trying to roll. It was so hot on that baby's back the baby was trying to roll over. The baby shouldn't even know how to roll over like that so you know the ground had to be hot."
Yelder told witnesses to take pictures so police could see what was happening. When officers arrived, they said Abdullahi admitted to placing her baby in the street.
"I heard her admit what she did," Yelder said. "So I said to her, 'You're going to jail, you're going to jail.' That's where she went to jail, sure did."
At Abdullahi's house Friday, the family carried a baby girl, in a carrier, to a waiting van. The father's family said the baby is ok and will stay with her father.
A judge ordered Abdullahi to have no contact with the infant and police contacted Child Protective Services.
TLDR, Woman gets in fight with boyfriend, he leaves, she puts their infant daughter in the street. Kid rescued from 133 degree blacktop, mother goes to jail.

Yeah at least call the cops...I get that some people don't want to get involved physically, but anyone can call the cops.

And the reasoning the witness said she gave, "'Well that's what we do in Africa to get our husbands to come back to us. We put the baby in the streets,' or some stuff, 'and then they come back."

If you don't know what caused the fight, then I could see people not wanting to get involved. If I was there though, after that much of a beating, I would have done something to stop it and then let the cops sort out what was going on.

                        Aren't the police negligent here.

Officer...."Here's your keys back and your appearance ticket Ma'am"

                        Hot Chick...."*Hiccup* Thanks".....Vroom Vroom

I find it more shocking that the cops would give the keys back than a drunk person deciding it was a good idea to drive home after getting a DUI. She was still drunk, what was the cop's excuse.

I hate to say it but see the bolded part above?

That would be a damn shame but who here thinks any one of us would have been let go on this one? Seriously.

You also have the bystander effect. Part of it is basically in a emergency type situation if others in the group aren't reacting then you most likely won't either. It's pretty interesting reading about it.

It's why they tell you to signal someone out to get help in a crowd, rather than just yelling it out. Everyone will wait for someone else to do something.

                                Wowsers......

PORTLAND Ore. (Reuters) - An Oregon grandmother who authorities said made a cup of methamphetamine-laced tea while visiting family in California is facing a felony child endangerment charge after her 2-year-old granddaughter drank the concoction and was hospitalized.

Cynthia Watson, 51, of the Portland area, was charged on Monday with felony child endangerment and possession of methamphetamine, and was due in court on Wednesday, Riverside County Sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Alberto Martinez said.

He said the child, who was not identified, was now back home with family and expected to make a full recovery.

Watson had been staying with relatives in Garner Valley in Southern California when she made a cup of tea with methamphetamine on Sunday night to get high, authorities said on Tuesday.

At some point, the cup was left unattended and her granddaughter took a drink, the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

The child’s mother called police and took her to the hospital on Monday after the toddler would not fall asleep.

“Her daughter was talking rapidly, scratching her skin, could not sit still and was very agitated,” Sergeant Craig McDonald said in the statement.

“Thinking there might be some medical issue with her daughter, the reporting party took her to a hospital to be examined. Over the course of the evening, the examination revealed the child tested positive for methamphetamine in her system,” he added.
