Re: Uncommon Opinions
IPO's are #1 if it's your company that's IPO'ing. Because then you can purchase all the others on your list.Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
I hate IPA's.
Like, I really can't stand them. At one time there may have been some craft to making them, but at this point they are for the most part undrinkably bitter and show no art or craft at all. It's like every jackhole that wants to brew some simulacrum of "craft" beer figures they can make an IPA, so they proceed to do so by just hammering the living dog crap out of their mash with hops, hops, and more hops. Which, I suppose, is not that far off from the actual origins of the stuff, but 99/100 IPAs being brewed today are just complete crap and I have no idea why anyone drinks them.Comment

Dr. Thunder is a good replacement for Dr. Pepper...I'd have difficulty telling the difference in either.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Part of the reason why I shop by ABV%. At least that way if I don't like the taste its gonna give me a good buzz.

Re: Uncommon Opinions
Coke and Pepsi taste the same to me.
7up and Sprite taste the same.
Filtered water, bottled water, tap water, all taste the same to me (although I do only drink filtered water since the filter probably does get out all the things you dont want in tap water even if you can't taste the difference)
Even food wise. Something like pizza, yes theres hundreds of ways to make it, and I can tell there's a difference between every place that makes it, but in the end, pizza is pizza. I'm not one of those people who'll be like "__ sucks, their pizza tastes like cardboard".
I dont have overly sensitive taste buds, but I'm not picky on things either.Last edited by Majingir; 01-05-2021, 05:34 PM.Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
What's interesting is that while I don't think they're great or anything, making a very light lager like a regular Budweiser is actually somewhat difficult to do. There can't be any imperfections or off-notes, because you don't have a bucket full of hops masking any other tastes. I've actually gotten a decent amount of respect for what it takes to brew something like that, even if I haven't actually had one in years.
No, not uncommon at all. Although I'm with Majingir: I know that there are better and worse pizzas, burgers, etc., but I'll eat pretty much any of them and I don't know that there is any pizza place I absolutely won't eat. It's pizza after all...Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
I think this is location dependent. I've had some nasty tasting tap water. Might be safe to drink. Doesn't mean it isn't nasty in some areas.Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
Yes, exactly. It doesn't take any understanding of flavor profiles or skill to brew a crap IPA.

Re: Uncommon Opinions
IPA's are to beer now what merlot was to wine in the 1990's. Oddly enough, after "Sideways", pinot noir became in the 2000's what merlot used to be (e.g. a lot of bad / crappy pinots because the style got so popular), and the merlots that made it through that period ended up being pretty good.
Fun fact (that many of you probably already knew): in the film "Sideways", Miles professes to hate merlot and cabernet franc, yet his prized bottle of 1961 Chateau Cheval Blanc is a blend of merlot and cab franc.Comment
