Seeing how my baby nephew is turning four years old in just a couple of weeks, I don't blame them. They grow up so damn fast.

Professional photos constantly? May be overkill, but get 'em once in a while. My nephew is too adorable to pass those opportunities up. Anyone with a camera or phone can make a professional photo now though, heh.

Pics in general is one thing, but the constant need for those professional styled photos (I don't mean hiring someone, I mean those pics where you basically set up the moment yourself, such as what they're doing, whats in the background and so on) is the part I feel is overkill.

It's as if you cant let people know you have things in your house, or the outdoor pic needs to be taken on the best looking patch of grass you can find and so on.

I mean, if I had a kid I would probably have 10 TB in videos/photos, I think the problem is when people feel they need to share it on Facebook/Instagram. But that's just me.

Aside from the weird baby photo shoots mentioned earlier, the vast majority of pics I see people posting on FB or whatever are just normal candid "in the moment" ones.

Maybe a combination of both (ones you know aren't the ones who do this, but ones I know are), I have no idea which side is the majority, but I'd imagine/hope yours is.

I've had instances in the past where I might have captured something cool/funny in the moment either in a picture or video. Only to be met with a response like "why'd you get ___ in the background" or "why is it captured from that angle"?

It's like, "Sorry, next time they do something funny, I'll yell CUT, reposition the entire area, and then tell them to resume".

One of the many reasons I dont have or care for Instagram. I feel it's just filled with people showing off their life, competing with others, basically only doing things to get likes. People care more about going to a park or attraction not to enjoy what's going on, but to get those Like worthy pics or videos.

Not sure if this one is uncommon, but video games should not be allowed using non gameplay pics or videos when promoting their product.

Using cutscenes, or moments not even in the game should never be allowed.

I can look at promotional ads or pics for games 15 years ago and it looks way better than even modern gameplay at times.

All promos should be required to be direct gameplay footage (no instant replays either).

That's almost the equivalent to food in commercials being rubber or painted/waxed to look better, which also should be illegal (I think some things in this instance have been deemed illegal).

Although Amazon and others are guilty of that too. How many ads on Amazon do you see where the company photoshops their product into some random photo rather than just take a pic of their product in use? Something like a security camera, instead of taking a pic of the camera set up, they just photoshopped the camera onto a house, like was it so hard to take a pic of the product in an actual setting?

Not only that, direct gameplay footage is much more appealing to me. I watched the Battlefield premiere trailer and felt nothing, but watched the gameplay trailer and was all over it.

I do wonder though why video game companies always seem to have really compressed commercials, or with reduced framerates. It seems they should be able to carry that bandwidth into television. Same with their YouTube uploads. Why am I uploading footage that is higher quality than the studios themselves?

Not sure how uncommon this is since bicyclist hate is pretty common, but...why do people cycling in the park have to wear the full spandex outfits like they're Lance Armstrong or something? You don't see us joggers out there dressed like Usain Bolt.

Are they dressed like marathon runners? Because that's closer to what they're doing rather than sprinting as fast as they can

Maybe they have 0 idea about biking attire, just go to some store, look at what cycling gear is, and buy/wear it?

Speaking of bicyclist hate, I almost hit someone today. 100% wouldn't have been my fault, especially with a dash cam.

I was driving down a road, went to turn right on another street, that other street is basically on a winding road, and as soon as I go right onto there a bike comes right out of nowhere on my side of the road, almost goes right into my car.

There's a left lane and a right lane there, they were riding on the wrong side of the road AND basically against the curb so that you can't even see them when turning right.

I'm not someone who likes honking their horn after the fact, but I absolutely should have here.

Fyi, he wasn't dressed like a cyclist though.

I don't hate cyclists, but in some cities (the ones you would guess if asked), they act like they own the road and everyone else is supposed to bend to their whims. The rule is share the road, not "cyclists get to do whatever they want and everyone else has to adjust". I know that in some cities, motorists are hostile and not accommodating at all to cyclists, but it's the complete opposite in many/most of the coastal big cities (west coast especially).

I do my best to try to give space and be courteous and safe, but I expect the bicycle rider to do the same. I also don't think it's right that many cyclists fluidly shift from being a cyclist (another vehicle on the road) while riding on the road to suddenly being a pedestrian on a moment-to-moment basis and without warning - e.g. turning from the bike lane to crossing a crosswalk like a pedestrian - and somehow I'm supposed to know which one they consider themselves to be at any given moment.

Anyway, with that rant out of the way, I think at least some of the spandex thing with cyclists is loose-fitting clothing can be annoying/safety hazard on bikes, what with the possibility of getting clothing stuck in the chains or snagged in a wheel or something. But that's mainly it. If you're going for a serious ride, the wind resistance of loose-fitting clothing can actually be significant, but for a day-to-day leisurely commute, it probably isn't all that noticeable.

If they (meaing the cities) want bike lanes, add them next to sidewalks, not next to cars on roads. Many sidewalks have more than enough space where they could add a bike lane beside them. Better than just slabs of concrete against the curb with the occasional tree just to make it look "green"

On residential areas, they're "normal sized". On major areas theres enough space as I mentioned where you could have trees or benches and other stuff to the side. Enough space where even someone walking with a wide stroller, you can pass by them without stepping on the road.

put me in the uncommon opinion if you want to put a bicycle on the public roads,
you ought to have to have insurance same as any other vehicle
to argue a bicycle isn't a vehicle of conveyance is asinine IMUO
